We Have Had Nominations For Best Drummer, Now ......

  1. Downvoting Ringo @mike willis. The drummer of the most influential band ever. I downvote you for the derpiest downvote.

Anyway, Bonham would prob get my vote. Matt Helders is also very good.

  2. Prince was quite handy at bashing the skins himself when he felt like it. Even if you don’t rate his drumming, it’s worth watching from about 30s onwards purely for Shelia wandering around in a see through white leotard/catsuit :bucktooth:

Or then this live version of “America” where he starts on guitar but jumps behind the drums towards the end

  3. I never liked Princes music. Never have. Too 80's for me. But, I cannot deny the mans talent. Stevie Wonder too plays just about everything. These multi instrumentalists make me sick. I can't even play the goddamned recorder.

  4. Norman Wisdom was under-rated.

  5. Is there not some kind of legislation to protect us from women like this ?

That curly haired woman in the Brit Awards vid should not be allowed to wander the streets with that kind of beauty
.... it could cause serious road traffic accidents !

It states quite clearly in The Book that women should keep their hair covered because
" it is a disturbance to the orderly affairs of men "

.... and who am I to argue with wisdom like that ?

    :)

  6. Honey from the Honeycombs introduced by a special Guest.

  7. Well, I came of age in the 80s and his music was the soundtrack of my teens and early 20s. His best work (c.1980 - 88) still sounds timeless IMO, but oddly the music from the 90s onwards sounds more dated than this early stuff.

Tbh, I think he was probably Apsergers. Many of the signs are there - eccentricity, genius level talent combined with social awkwardness (he used to play with his back to the audience in the early days), single-minded focus on tasks, including spending literally days in the studio without sleep such that his vault contained literally thousands of finished songs, and then after his death it also came out that he’d secretly been giving lots of money away to autism/aspergers charities.

  9. Check out Buddy Rich, too many examples on you tube or Ziggy Modeleste from the Meters.
I don't think Ringo is in this league.

  10. Is that why you've got it shackled to the wall ?

Fling it this way .... I'll give it a loving home .... :)

  13. Whilst Phil Collins is a bit of a twat, i'm not sure you could say his drumming is over rated.

Topper Headon from the Clash was vastly underated at the time. Again in recent years he has got the proper recognition his talent merited. This being one of his best IMHO.

  19. I hope you’re being sarcastic. Lars can’t even play Metallica songs correctly live and they’re not that difficult.
