Hi folks, I've just bought a 2019 Multistrada 950s and discovered you can't always trust the manual. I wanted to change the charger lead to suit my Oxford Oximiser 900, this of course needed the riders seat removing. Had a look in the 950s manual and followed the instructions, could not get the riders seat to budge one millimeter. This frustrated me for a few attempts so I went online and downloaded the manual to see if there had been changes made. Nope, instructions were the same. I scratched my head and phoned my dealer to see if they could help but turned out they were closed until the 12th January. This morning it finally occurred to me to check the base 950 manual and voila there is a screw on either side. I feel a bit stupid as I had just dismissed the rather elaborately embellished screws as just a decorative feature. So, if you have a Mts 950s and you can't get the seat off have a look at the base model manual for the method. Ride safe
Hi. I was there yesterday. There is a socket especially for charging under the seat, states clearly the Duke charger accessory should be used in this point so read a bit more. I was about to attach my tender leads direct to the battery as with my other older bikes bikes but when I saw all the electrics and given the rest of the computer aided stuff - I baulked. This not a bike to have an electrical problem !!! Perhaps it's just a ruse to get you to buy the Duke charger with the relative plug to suit the but...... Edit corrects typo
The lead that was under my seat connected directly to the battery as usual. It's just a bit of a faff getting the battery into a position to access the terminals.
Hi. Yes, it is a bit “well packed” under there... Having just entered the 21st century with a modern bike my concerns were: Ducati fitted the dedicated socket for reasons other than convenience and/or Inadvertently disconnecting/re-connecting the battery completely or in a bad sequence may result in having to reset more than just the clock . Thanks for the info
