I don't think he did. He said he doesn't think it's racist if someone says they don't like the Polish. He could have used any nationality to make the point. For what it's worth I disagree with his contention but I don't think he was saying he doesn't like the Polish.
But I dont think it is though. If I dislike people from Iran because of their way of life and their manner and culture, but I like people from Iraq, (you could say the same about India and Pakistan) its nothing to do with colour - which IMHO is the key determiner for racism. May not be the model now, who knows, but then offence is 'taken' at everything now. Well, anything other than anti-white and anti-English, obvs And before all the snows jump up and down, I'm not saying they all look alike *examples now true feelings
i have, sorry, had more like, lots of Polish and other EU/European customers. i have yet to see an unfit one yet. for that reason alone we should of voted remain. why wouldnt you want these stunners enhancing our gene pool?
surely nobody still thinks immigration is the fault of the EU...but that Was part of the laughable argument. My wife and I have just both received our 5 year Carte de sejour. So we can stay in France. There are requirements for income, work etc. This is similar in most European countries for none Europeans. No Carte or job with a work permit then no stay over 90 days in a year. Enforced. The only people wthe UKnow control fully at entry are our friends and neighbours from the EU. Illegal immigration and asylum seekers will continue to be a World issue.
If someone dislikes millions of people because of their place if birth then they are being racist to the core regardless of what skin colours are involved.
Good for you, Still, you couldn't now settle in another EU country if you wanted but you are limited to France. The 90 day rule also applies within the EU, whilst you can go to any country and settle there, unless you have means or a job after that period to sustain yourself you can be sent packing. It's all in the EU citizens charter. The UK chose not to take advantage of that particular rule.
I have my 10 year residents permit and yes it is limited to France, but that is the country that I chose to live in. I have no job as I retired many years ago. We will also have the 90 day rule applied to us when visiting any other country apart from the UK or France, but the difference between us French residents and UK residents is that we have no borders to cross to other EU countries, but UK residents do. That will make it very easy to enforce the 90 day rule on UK resident brits. Our bike insurance and registration is also from an EU country which means that it accepted throughout the EU.
mate, with the beauties that come in here i could just launch my levi's at em and they would end up pregnant
It shouldn't do but we're talking about the British government that don't know their arse from their elbow.
Five years from now will be the acid test whether it's a hit or miss on the economy front, that's of course if we make Covid-19.
1993 was when the EU started, as I stated at that moment I couldn’t be bothered to look it up. Clearly neither could you, happy to have helped you.
Would it help if we called it Bigotry instead of racism...? Neither is good. Taking a dislike to a generic group of people from somewhere else, even if on the basis of some personal experience, is bigoted / racist. We can dislike individual people we have actually met, but extrapolating to the generic population of that colour / creed / culture is problematic. Whether you think it relates to skin colour or not doesn't really matter?
What is / isn't racist is always divisive, and it's not about finger pointing. We should all accept that we are *capable* of bigotry or racism given the right circumstances - but acknowledging that it exists, and highlighting instances of it should help us to avoid falling into those ways of thinking. I kinda feel like I've never met a nice South African - but I try to avoid assuming they're all "effing ****s" and I would like to think I wouldn't begrudge them settling in the UK, etc etc. It's much easier to feel antipathy towards races or cultures which are more different to our own, but it's the same thing. Some racism is easy. Some less so. We're all human beings worthy of a basic level of respect until proven otherwise? *But them SCOUSERS!!*
i've know lots of SA's. many came over in the late 90s when SA was transforming. they seem to me to be in two different camps, the dutch SA's always came accross as hard but fair, then the Brittish SA's who i met had some pretty heavy views.
