I recall fondly the memories in the 90's of being purched at barregarrow crossroads and hearing the Norton rotaries long before they came into view. Good days at the TT
Do we've access to the keys....of course it would be nice to get our leg over every other weekend on something different.
The beautifully engineered Benelli Tornado 650S, with its massively over-square engine, (bore 84x58 stroke !!) so it revs like a two stroke. I worked in Valencia for 6 months in 1980, I called in at the Ducati dealer and one of these got wheeled out of the workshop after being serviced and while it sat there ticking over, I chatted with the mechanic who encouraged me to give the throttle a little twist - the resultingly epic response impressed me so much that it stayed with me for years, until I was able to buy my own one about 15 years later. It is reckoned to be the last 'real' Benellis built. After this came the De Tomaso 4s and 6s etc.. Mine was eventually sold to Made in Italy, along with a California-ised Guzzi T3 and the cash got turned into an Aprilia Mille R that I've just recommissioned after keeping it in storage for 12 years..
