Ducati 999s price

  1. Hi just after a bit of advice im looking at selling my Ducati 999s 2003 mono posta in red and have advertised it at 6500 on a few places as looking on autotrader and so forth there arent many s specs around and certainly not with the low milage mine has. I'm not getting much interest and was hoping someone could advise if the price is too high.

The bike has done 4100 miles and has just under 12 months mot on it and just serviced with belts done in oct last year I think it was and done about 100 miles since then.
The bike is in mint condition with fsh and must be one of the lowest milage s specs in the country.
Extra include termis, ohlins as fitted as standard, power commander with custom map done last year, open clutch cover with plates, few bits of carbon, oberon clutch slave cyclinder, CNc levers and reservoir covers. It has also just had a new battery and updated hi cap cables fitted which improve starting hugely.
It is a much loved and cared for bike but isn’t used often enough. Tend to use other bike most of the time.never goes out in the rain.

  2. If you want a quick sale drop it to £5995 and expect someone to come and chip you further. I have just seen yours on eBay and it does look clean. If your not desperate to sell then hang out for decent money. It just takes that one person who wants a mint low mileage 999s. I certainly would not give it away

  3. Thanks mate. It is very clean and love the bike but really don't use it enough mainly due to the miles being so low don't feel like I should use it. I'm not desperate to sell at all and wouldn't be bothered if I sell it or not as not desperate. I put that price as like you say it just takes that one person who really wants a low mileage one. I honestly think its worth it as all the recent tests in mags seem to be tipping them as future classics

  4. I would remove the Breil sticks though

  5. I quite like them. What makes you say remove them. Just personal taste or another reason

  6. Just makes it look more OEM without and that what people love. Do you still have the original mirrors?

  7. Ok. Ill have a think. No but the mirrors or the Ducati performance ones and I presume they were supplied with the bike from new. I've got original levers, covers, non carbon bits and original clutch covers and plates.

  8. The carbon bits are nice, I may swap back to OEM clutch cover and plate. I think I have a set of OEM mirrors in red. Look at this one which has double the miles that yours does, it looks very "Just out of the factory" as you say these are future classics but to be classic and appealing to the right person they like them to be original. 9. Not a million miles off with my asking price then. Plus it's a bi posta. Can always put it back on if someone is interested as like you say they do seem to bring more standard. Mine isn't too far off factory and wouldn't take more than an hour to put back to standard

  10. My '06 with 17k went for £4250. If that's any help!

  11. Thanks mate looks nice. Someone got a bargain. If it wasn't for the miles on mine being so low i know the place should be a lot cheaper I just think with the very low miles its worth around what I'm asking to the right person. I may be wrong though

  12. That is a fine collection

  13. They belong to next door, which have grown in amount since the pics were taken.

  14. As someone who's looking for a 999s I think its well over priced. You can get a 05 onwards 999s for 6k or less with sub 8000 miles and a full list of extras.

TBH I think you're looking at about 5kish.

  15. I sold my 03 2years ago for 5250 with 13k miles.

  16. £6500 is getting into 1098 money. Is it a red frame? I hate the grey frames.

  17. I've been speaking to someone who's got a 2005 red frame 7000mile bike dripping in extras, he's not had one call at 6.5k as you can get a 1098 or even a 1098s for that cash, its just too much money so trying to get that for the less desirable(but still nice) 2003-05 models is wishful thinking.

  18. Me I keep it, look on eBay and auto trader will give you some idea of what to expect, it's like selling a aprilia rsv, a lot of bike for not much money, your loss the buyers gain. I've been tempted to sell mine as I like to change every year but the money in the market is not there and you do have a nice bike. Keep it and enjoy it.

  19. Thanks for all the advice. Like I say it's very hard to work out the price the bike is worth as not many about. 6.5k may be slightly optimistic but I certainly wouldn't sell it for 5k it's defiantly worth more than that.
