I'd have swapped the desirable parts for stock before the assessor arrived. DId this on my old wrecked 848 evo.
Just a quick calculation of easy bits to take off i.e exhausts, carbon bits and comfort seat thats an easy £1500 back? The bike took a heavy glancing blow against the front end of the car, but not heavy enough to crush the rad etc.
Unfortunately never an option, police recovered bike and i went to hospital so had never been in my possession. I can claim losses for the bits of carbon i put on it and the bike had the tri option pack so came with the exhausts. The bike had increased in value in the year i owned it so not out of pocket.
I had the same issue with my accident, the police however told me the yard it was being stored at so I was able to go down and make some sharpish "adjustments"! It's pot luck in that situation though as it was being moved from near me, Birmingham, to the insurance companies yard near Gatwick.
