May have been delivered with the bike to be fitted by the dealer but most definitely available to specify. Andy
It was certainly a special period and will not be matched by anything new from the factory ever, but saying that i wouldn't mind a go on that superleggera.
I went to see this bike some time ago and I can vet that it is lovely indeed. Very original - really minor things that would not be original (eg. mirror / screen) but that's really no big deal and it is for the most of the picky to go and change those. IMO red mirrors just as good and the standard screen on the 996 was always too low for anything else than esthetics. Even racers used taller ones except maybe Foggy. I would have had it but could not pass on a 888 sps. I would still be interested but I need to replenish the account first and business needs to be doing good (which is challenged right now). So, I am afraid that I could not get it at this time. All the best with the sale.
No, but I have not seen her either yet. It is still a jhp as I am returning her largely to original. From one lockdown to house move and the next lockdown, I have not managed to get there. I also need to rebuild an SP4 which I might consider selling eventually. It is a minter though, so wish I could keep her, but might be hard to justify, especially if I want to get a 996.
I have had the pleasure of seeing this beauty in the flesh, the bike, not Brian. it’s a beauty, shame I don’t have the funds otherwise it would be tucked up in my garage. GLWS
Glwts Can’t believe the comments about the mirrors. For me this is the most desirable of the 916/996/998 bikes.
Hey you, if i'm ever over your way i'll pop into see this wonderful collection & start salivating, but i've to say over a period of time we do chop and change things around like screen savers etc..........so never say never in my book.
