  4. He would though wouldn’t he, I know I would if I lived in London or close by. ;)

Not that I would live in London well not at my age.

  5. But there is Boris' Bikes! I haven't been to London for about 3 years. Anyone know if Boris' Bikes is still going?

My impression was that after Londoners got a bit fed up with Ken, they voted in Boris, as they were very much taken in by the "Boris - affable idiot" show - which he could get away with as mayor... BUT, you can't as PM and especially as PM in a pandemic.

  6. Boris bikes are still going, but now have Santander splattered all over them. Boris didn’t invent Boris bikes, they were in Paris for a few years before and possibly other places too.

  7. This current Government are a complete shambles. Couldn't organise a p1ss up in brewery even if it owned one. The fact that we have the highest death rate and currently No.5 in the world, just shows what a clusterfcuk they have created through negligance. If it wasn't for Covid, all this could have the potential to be deemed Legal Genocide.

All of them have taken lessons from Business Proffessionals, because they constantly refuse to answer honest, direct questions for fear of reprisals nowadays. It's also being demonstrated for many years that it's a job for the boys as they refuse to sack anyone who breaks the rules, but then fines the General Public £1000's for travelling more than 7 miles from home.

I hate hearing about the daily Coronavirus Updates, because it just saddens and sickens me greatly. However once a week is once too often, just as is the alarming, rising death rate. What will be next, the amount of vaccines that the UK is getting over the EU, where will that Deal all end up?

    Anyway rant over for now.

  10. The Irish guy who does radio shortbreads evening drive show is unlistenable. I went back to LBC.

  11. I believe that was the front cover of The Economist. Is that correct? I actually bought it at the time as a memento to burn after a yes vote in 2014. Sadly it never happened

  12. yip, chances are you do Dom, the polling has been done, half your country does. and most of them support the idea of it, but for a different reason to our selves. but tbh, you could save us all a load of hassle and support reform and modernising of the UK parliamentary system instead. maybe encourage your neighbours to think of the bigger picture rather than how many pence they could save on tax at the next election while insisting that your elected are held to account in a similar styli as up north.
    .
the fella is a bit pissed off, as are we all. tho i promise yah, he articulated the thoughts of easy 80% of us rather well concerning trojo and the tory party in general.
OK folks, try this if you want a more palatable version of the attitudes of Covid and trojos response to it. if Burns Night doesn't interest you, skip past the first 4mins. they discus the visit before it happened, how other independent nations dealt with covid and UK politics in general from a Scottish perspective in a way i can associate with and recognise.

  13. Boris is an idiot! You only have to look at the countries performance re Brexit and Covid to see that plainly. You could make an arguement that he is loyal to his staff for sticking up for them, but why did e pick such incompetent fools that require constant U turns and interventions re staff bullying on a monthly basis.

It is interesting that you brought up Doris at Mayors question time though. I never watched him doing that & so have no opinion. However if you watch the clips shown on BBC re PMQ's Doris looks powerful and in control. Lots of hand waving, WWII metaphors and allusions to the classics. Then if you take the time, you watch the entire PMQs with Starmer to reveal the truth. Our illustrious blond burke doesn't answer the questions at all, and instead he reads pre planned lines from his book to make soundbites for television. All the while he is reprimanded by the speaker for his poor conduct, but none of this is shown. So I'm wondering whether this was also the case during his time as Mayor...?

  14. Quite different as mayor. In his answers , he had researched all the facts and figures on the relevant topic to be thrown back at the questioner in such a way there was no coming back, it really struck me then . PMS question time is pure dick waving if the highest order, the truth is I wouldn’t piss on 99.9% of the buggers if they were on fire. But the recent Labour opposition probably makes the Tories job a lot easier than it should be.

  15. i've watched trojo being questioned when he was mayor. he does do well in them, but only in so much that he doesn't appear to care about the issues raised therefore doesn't get flustered. just the usual waffle.

  16. There's a vast difference between delegating duties and abandoning them. The impression I got from what I read was that all he did was turn up to photo-ops, sign stuff that other people shoved in front of him and demand funds for juvenile vanity schemes such as his garden bridge (abandoned after millions of pounds in spaffage) and bendy buses (abandoned after millions of pounds in spaffage).

However, I actually liked him when he was my mayor because in those days I didn't know that he was a moral black hole, and shapeshifting creep that he is, his politics and messaging was progressive, "woke" even. But, being a cynical opportunist, he reinvented himself in 2015 ish as a faux-churchillian little-englander when he worked out that such a persona and political stance would give him a shot at being PM.

  17. Thanks for that re Mayoral questions, thats interesting.

Re PMQs, do you think Doris handles the questions from Starmer well? I watch at least one session per week, and haven't seen the PM answer any questions well at all. In fact I'd say he has been demolished on every occasion. If the subjects weren't so tragic and it were possible to include humour as well, Doris would be a laughing stock.
