Gigs?

  1. Taken from a post on Facebook:

    First concert - Hawkwind at Newcastle City Hall
    Last concert - Mike and the Mechanics I think at Sheffield City Hall
    Best concert - Any Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Blockheads or Vintage Trouble gig I’ve been to
    Worst concert - Wizzard one Xmas about 5 years ago. Played 40 mins and wouldn’t even come back out for an encore. Midge Ure (unplugged) comes a close second, with Elbow third.
    Loudest concert - Think it was a band called Man, but I was stood next to the speakers.
    Seen the most - Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Vintage Trouble second I think
    Most surprising - Proclaimers, Mike and the Mechanics and Sophie Ellis Bexter!
    Next concert - Kaiser Chiefs hopefully
    Wish I could have seen - possibly the Beatles.

    Best concert - AC/DC, Rock or Bust Tour, Barcelona Olympic Stadium, 28th May, 2015
    Worst concert - Australian Pink Floyd or a Queen tribute that I can’t remember the name of.
    Loudest concert - Skid Row
    Seen the most - Status Quo
    Most surprising - The Hamsters (ZZTop tribute) or Perfect Alibi (Pink Floyd tribute)
    Next concert - Live Wire
    Wish I could have seen - Queen

    Last concert- queen with Adam lambert Liverpool echo arena
    Best concert - Bryan adams
    Worst concert - Japan at the Liverpool empire....took my girlfriend ....ended up marrying her so wasn’t that bad ,
    Seen the most - Ritchie Blackmores rainbow
    Most surprising - boomtown rats
    Loudest -Saxon. If I could have actually heard anything was a tie for the worst
    Next concert......who knows, got tickets to see Stuart lee,if comedians count,now bumped to June...
    Wish I could have seen - Oasis

  6. First concert - Can’t remember.
    Last concert - Metallica, 2019
    Best concert - Prince at the Hop Farm Festival, 2011
    Worst concert - Metallica, Twickenham, 2019. The sound was terrible, killjoy security and I missed the first 20 mins as the girlf made us late, which also cast a shadow over the whole night.
    Loudest concert - Metallica, Hammersmith Odeon, 1988.
    Seen the most - Prince, 10 - 12 times.
    Most surprising - Squeeze, Keele Uni, 1989. Tinie Tempah, 2011. The Hamsters (Hendrix covers act) various times in the 90s.
    Next concert - God knows.
    Wish I could have seen - Person: Jimi Hendrix. Specific concert: Prince at the Camden Roundhouse, 2014.

    Most surprising (brilliant) ....Glen Campbell, Southend 2007 ish
    Best.... Shed 7, Southend 2000
    Loudest. ...The Damned, early 80s can’t remember where!
    Worst....Madness 2010 Newmarket racecourse
    Seen the most.... Madness
    Wish I could have seen, Elvis

  8. First was Motörhead at the Free Trade Hall
    Last was Gnod at some dive in town
    Best/ most memorable was Lou Reed with his Berlin stuff at the Apollo
    Worst was a toss up between the Who or Brucie Springfield
    Seen most Grandaddy
    Most surprising Tune Yards at some dive in town
    Wished I’d seen Kate Bush play, although I did get to kiss her once but that’s another story.
    Oh and of course Sleaford Mods are there somewhere.

    I’m sure we’ve done this thread before?

  13. King Kurt and all that food and raw meat ? I’ve seen Echo and the Bunnymen a few times as well. Were you one of those ‘psycho billies’ ? ;)

  14. King Kurt was at the famous Isle of Wight scooter rally in 86, i was more punk/scooter boy, the scooter scene in the 80's was epic. The Bunnymen are still one of my favorite bands of all time :upyeah:
     
  15. Seen Echo once at Symphony hall B’ham they were pretty good, they tired to cry off doing the gig as Liverpool FC had got to Champions League final. There was uproar, Echo played....
     
  16. First concert - Kiki Dee Croydon Fairfield Halls (Elton John came on For an encore)
    Last concert - Bruce Springsteen
    Best concert - The Clash at Lyceum (or U2 at Lyceum just after ‘October’ came out)
    Worst concert - The Police at Wembly arena not long before they split up
    Seen the most - Bruce Springsteen (although we used to go and see a pub rock band called The Brakes in the late ‘70s who were brilliant)
    Most surprising - Sam Fender on Later with Jools Holland (lucky to get free audience tickets)
    Next concert - Supposed to be The Killers later this year
    Wish I could have seen - Kate Bush at Hammersmith.

    Wish I could have seen AC DC at Hammersmith Apollo

    The Johnny 7 were a comedy band made up of great musicians, one of whom is/was active in Ducati UpNorth and played bass in the Rezillos. Stage name in the J7 - Dicky Molenz


    For a long time they were the only band to have played T in the Park every year.

    Worst concert - Party in the park, Wiltshire. Tony Hadley, Vengaboys and Steps
    Seen the most - Chris De Burgh
    Most surprising - Seal as a warm up for Duran Duran at the NEC
    Next concert - Who knows?
    Wish I could have seen - ABBA

    Worst concert - Marilyn Manson - Nottingham.
    Seen the most - AC/DC.
    Most surprising - Drowning Pool.
    Next concert - Hazel O'connor at the local village hall if it goes ahead.
    Wish I could have seen - Dr Feelgood with Lee Brilleaux and Wilko Johnson.
