Went out again this evening, 25 miles total today. Thames overflowed in Laleham but carried on anyway as only about 2 foot deep.

  3. I've been Zwift-ing over winter - until a household plumbing disaster put an end to it two weeks ago.
I was doing the Tour de Zwift, took me 90mins to ride up Alp d'Zwift (Alp d'Huez) and when I looked at my stats in Strava later I'd spend nearly all of it at 160+bpm. Christ knows what I need to do to get closer to an hour for that climb.
I was surprised at how close (in experience) to Alp d’Huez it was - although the scenery isn't the same.

  4. After virtually giving away my decent fluid turbo trainer last year ( dickhead !!) ..I managed to source a reasonably priced second hand electro magnet one with power control and have just given up on the weather up here,...it’s fekkin dire, so have been doing a few indoor turbo sessions instead

On YouTube there’s a few decent cycle training videos, search “GCN training video “ and this site is called “ indoor cycling videos “ , gives you various information like cadence, gradient etc,...it’s better than nothing!

Before I bagged this second hand Turbo, I was thinking about going the whole hog and buy a Wahoo Kikr core, mat, flat screen telly etc but at the time they were all out of stock and the whole setup would have cost me about a Grand,.....whereas this setup including the new mat,....£80...Bargain!!

  5. The scenery is great it’s the incline and heat that’s the killer going up there, driving down in my car is the only time I’ve experienced brake fade not good.

  7. I ride, very slowly, with flat bars these days because i'm old and my neck is fek'd. Same reason i dont have a 748R any more.
I have turned to making these instead . Second picture... _DSC0403.JPG Alpe d Huez yellow jiggled.jpg _DSC0403.JPG Alpe d Huez yellow jiggled.jpg

  8. Hi DucatiScud
I took the graphic of Alpe d'Huez from the Tour de France site and did not take account of the exact years route. In this Hobby context i am not that scientific. Could do if asked though.

To answer your question, i can, and will, do any route or stage that i can get an image for.
I just posted a 'special' to somebody yesterday that wanted the 2019 Albertville to Val Thorens climb. I believe it was a ride he and his mates did in 2019 as a precursor to the TDF. Dont remember what they call those semi pro/club events.

I will goggle the challenge you asked about.

  13. Think you’re referring to a Sportive but not sure.

  14. Yeah, wasn't sure whether sportive or Fondo. I dont do competitive cycling so its a mystery to me.

  15. Think Fondo is the Italian name for a sportive. Sportive aren’t competive in the U.K. as you aren’t allowed to race on public roads on a cycle without a lot of Red tape.

Hence why time trailing is fairly popular as it’s against the clock and not classed as racing.

  16. Took a bit longer than I’d hoped due to family commitments and being in the process of a house sale/move butthats the first 1,000 miles cracked of 2921.
