This place may be worth saving as a source for partshttps://www.pjme.co.uk/acatalog/Yamaha_DT175MX.html
Thanks. Their website isn’t great and I couldn’t find the cable on there but I’ll give them a call tomorrow as that looks like a really useful company
Not sure on their stock list, they come recommended on the rdcrazy pages as a place for engine parts and crank rebuilds.
You should be able to get DT125 & ST175 throttle cables for £12ish on eBay. They are pattern copies but I've never had any issues. OEM are often twice or three times the cost. Make sure you oil them well before you fit at the handlebar. The ones you have currently might not have been in the correct places, so its worth using google to look at original sales pics which show how the cables should be fitted.
The 125 cable was very badly routed and was trapped in several places but no matter how much I adjusted it, I couldn't get less than an inch of free play. Hence, I fitted a pattern one, which was about £15. The 175 is being dealt with by a mechanic because after an initial exchange of text-based artillery fire between myself and the guy who sold me the bike, he has agreed to pay for the bike to be sorted out. So it is in a local workshop, helpfully recommended to me by @dukesox for a full report and remedying of the issues, primarily poor starting, poor fuelling and an array of electrical faults. He says the cable that is presently fitted is too short and so the last thing I want to do is try to save someone else £40 buying another one which is exactly the same and end up wasting an hours labour and several more days before I get the bike back into my ever lovin' arms. I also want to get the 175 finished and out of his workshop asap so he can give the 125 a safety check over for me now I have (hopefully) de-bodged it. Then finally me and the lad can go green-laning and spend the next 3 months in traction together
Went out for 5 minutes to see just how tight the bolts were on the (standard) front discs of my S2r800. Turns out they all came out with no drama, so this is how I left it. 320 discs and Goldlines, just need hoses and fluid putting back in.
The lads young he’ll bounce but will be able to visit you whilst you’re interaction, unless in the mean time something female distracts him then you’ll be alone.....
Tidied and hovered garage in readiness for swapping the track Gixxer rear shock which I haven't got round to after about 3 weeks of "tomorrow.......". It is now on the Abba after buying the adaptor so now I feel I'm nearly out of excuses. Apart from the fact it's bloody Baltic!
Tried to start Tuono which hasnt been touched for 6 months. German charger says Japanese battery is full charged, but Italian electrics say no way. Optimate says battery is dead as well so what's going on? Going to take the battery off when its not below freezing in the garage and give a good kicking with a bog basic charger to see if I can get it to register a voltage. AGM battery on its side and not Lithium.
Dropped off the 748 to the good men at BSD for a thorough going over before reassembly. Bit the bullet and ordered some carbon farkles too.
you thought about it though? that's a small bike thing, still qualifies.. just. I thought about fitting new ECU and running an Ugly but then it started to snow again.
wow, a 900? - I think I saw a black one abroad yesterday. I still have two 750s but well out of commission now sadly.
I spotted that one as well, tell me were you motivated by Henry Coles's programme as he had one on there the other day.
