  2. Nice, not seen one of those belly pans before ....

do you need one for track days ?

  3. No mate it's for aesthetics.

Only need belly pans to catch oil if racing.

  10. That is a Bin Liner. Bin recycled.

  11. I loved my 1200s, the only grumble was ground clearance, the way the foot pegs were, I couldn't get the balls of my feet on them, and went through toe Sliders very quickly

  12. The 1200r has increased ground clearance and a different type of foot peg to the S, so there should be no issues.

  13. Hi and welcome, that’s a great looking bike.

i’m in the same situation, just joined the forum, I took delivery of a low mileage 1200S two weeks ago and have never ridden it.
Very much looking forward to warmer weather and getting out on it to see what it’s like.

  15. Just the one from the afternoon of the day it arrived. The Courier dropped it off at 5:30 in the morning in the dark and when it was daylight I gave it a wash, as it had sat for 2 1/2 weeks in the warehouse following a journey on very salted roads in the Shetlands to make it to the ferry for Scotland
I discovered two things a few days later; One, the calipers had seized on the disks due to the salt and rust that had formed and worse, two, I had managed to get water into electrical components and completely scrambled the computer to make the bike not start and the dash go haywire for a very worrying four days.
I now know more than I want to about Ducati electrics and connectors and have spent today stripping and servicing three calipers that were in good shape three weeks ago!
My other half has added insult to this by asking why it needed so much work for such a low mileage bike!!!

still, it will be good when I get to go out on it. Monster at home.jpg

  16. I would have been gutted too. Give it some TLC mate and she'll reward you with beauty.

  17. They don't like water thrown at them.
Unless absolutely filthy I use Vulcanet wipes.

  18. That is one lovely looking bike.

I have to agree and echo what others have said about the Monster line. It feels like with the new direction Ducati is taking with it, these last model 1200 S/Rs will increase in demand.

  19. Finally i have finished getting the bike ready for this year. I thought i'd be able to do most of the work myself but soon began to realise that Ducati's are a bitch to work on!

    I made the following upgrades:

    Full service
    Oberon clutch slave
DP CF ignition cover, exhaust shield, rear hugger, swing arm cover and chain guard (gloss finish)
    Bar end mirrors
    Evotech stnd levers
    Mirror blanks
    Keyless filler cap
    USB power port
    Ultimate addons 1" ball adaptor
    Quadlock phone mount

Had a quick blast on her yesterday and found there's a few other tweeks i need to make like the position of the clutch and brake levers. I'll also be getting the suspension set up in a couple of weeks to my weight so that will also help. We just need some warmer weather now!
