  18. Bit flippant!
Statues belong in a museum, that way one can make the active decision to view/ admire their art form, or even for what they stand for and study their importance relevant to history

Manchester has like a lot of cities, a large Irish population
In a park not far from me we have a statue of Oliver Cromwell.
A much hated figure in Ireland to this day.

It serves as a constant reminder to the local good folk of brutal way he managed to roll out genocide on the people of Ireland during his reign, and the best bit is it’s free, you don’t have to pay for the privilege, you can go there, stand and just imagine all those lives he brutally murdered and crushed.
All those split up families shackled and sent off to the colonies.

Daily free oppression supplied indirectly by my local tax contributions!

And the good folk around here haven’t pulled it down, well not yet anyway.

    Might make a good film!
    :)
