Have cut the grass at Glidd Towers, planted more beans, leeks, and a couple of aubergines I have been nurturing indoors.
Well this morning I woke at 4.30 after a shite nights sleep, so I got up and did some work and surfed the net for an hour. I then showered, changed and drove to a meeting in Newcastle at 6am. Got to Newcastle at 8.30 for my 9am meeting. I'd forgotten what a shit city it is to get around with the one way system. First meeting finished at 11.30 and then it was off to Gateshead for meeting two. Meeting two finished at 1.30 and then I was off to Sunderland. At 3.20pm I was back on the road for home. Got home around 5pm, totally goosed and with a banging headache. Two paracetamol and 40 winks later and then some pasta for tea and I feel human again. Tomorrow I'm just in the office. :smile:
Sat around at work and discussed projects all day. Renewed my bike insurance (RAC gave best quote but it was still crappy). Plus agonised over whether to apply for a 6-month secondment to Qatar later this year. onder:
Bought myself a Givi Top box for my other bike, means i can give back the one i've borrowed off a mate for the last few weeks lol. Amazing how handy they are, i never thought i'd get much use out of one but gotta say its been great having decent storage on a bike.
Got up, went to work, came home, showered, ate salad and now in my onesie watching tv half asleep crashed out on my bed, totally ruined. I am done for the day.....
I went swimming again at lunchtime. A wee bit faster than last time, but with my technique I'm never going to make a real breakthrough. The worst thing is knowing you are doing things wrong but having no idea what. Never had a swimming lesson in my life once I'd actually learned to swim. Now making a Spanish tortilla (not as easy as it looks) and in the doghouse with the wife cos the garage pointed out to her the bit of bodywork on her car I bent a year ago when changing her wheels over. Put the jack in the usual place and the fucking bodywork bent like a piece of cheese. That Ford Fiesta - what do they make them out of now? Never been a problem with her old Mitsubishi or my Alfa. Plus you can't get the front wheels off as they rust-bond to the hubs. All that on a brand new car. It's crap.
I've been in the office, catching up on stuff. Also found out some savoury info on a competitor which could be of huge use in the future. And his evening I went for a rub n tug (but without the tug). I feel all relaxed now :smile:
Undo the wheel nuts 1 turn and go for a short blast up the road and back, weaving if necessary, this breaks the wheel/hub bond allowing easier removal.
Became a father for the second time to a lovely baby girl:biggrin:. Just like her brother thought, she was stubborn and didn't want to come out without a little assistance!
Got Halfords to replace a dodgy ratchet of theirs then whipped the passenger seat pegs off the 848 Noticed the two upper bolts from my heatshield were missing guess that's what happens with a v-twin, it evetually shakes itself to bits. Spent 15mins or so going over the bike nipping any loose nuts tight. Need to find some replacements for the heatshield though.
