Another St4s Immoblizer Issue

  1. so ive managed to figure out why the bike isn't starting. i managed to hook up tune ecu and read the error codes. It said crankshaft position sensor was one fo them. i was like huh i swear I installed a new one(bosch) not long ago.

so i pulled it and boom

clearly me being me and a wanker I didn't shim correctly. anyone know where i can get the shims from?

i also replaced my fuel pump with this

it fitted perfectly. i mean i could just order the bosch part for 60quid but am curious how this will play out, the swap was basically 1-2-1. i didn't use the rest of the kit and reused the little screen from the original since the ones that came with the kit didn't match up nicely.

my original pump also had some rust on it, not quite sure how

one thing from all this I defo recommend upgrading to a newer ECU, TuneECU makes it much easier to diagnose this kinda thing.

  3. she is indeed running. i wonder if this was the cause of the bike randomly breaking down? ie over bumps the cps would get closer to the crank?

also the slight misfire is still there. also unsure if its related to the cps

  4. Bit of a final update on this, I reloomed her, she's running much better, also I had a sneeze at 2-4k when I opened the throttle slowly. Turns out I forgot to set the CO trim when I flashed the DP map for the 5AM ECU. I set it to 15 whatever that means and it all went away.

Hopefully in for a mot soon, anyone know if she'd fail if I MOT her without fairings on?

Also managed to snap a VFR800 at a ridic low price so be interesting to compare the two.

Few qs, she defo needs valve clearance checking, and belts replacing again. I replaced them two years ago but she hasn't run anywhere near as much but am guessing best not risk it?

Turns out there's a bloke ten min away walk from mine that actually does suspension rebuilds so she's due given its all sexy ohlins

  5. My feeling is no to MOT fail without fairing but i think you need the top part !

  6. Hmm I can top fairing alone tbf so indicators and mirrors will be on. I really need to do the dszuz mod I think but don't really wanna cut the fairings

Also does anyone else hate the bullet connectors on the loom, am tempted to replace all with sexy super seals

  7. bullet connectors ??

    Indicators to the rear ?
First things to fail on my bike !

  8. You don't need the fairing for an MOT but front indicators would need to be fitted and working. It's not hard to cobble up temporary indicators with a pair of cheap aftermarket ones.

  9. tbf I still have the old rear ones i can hook em up to the front

  10. Yep, I like superseal a lot. All of mine look brand new inside. Need a non standard crimp tool and some practice to get them done though

  11. i just did it with standard needle nose pliers tbf when I had to do it for the diagnostic power port.

  12. front bearings replaced for an mot fail she had. i was a bit of a mug and destroyed my spacer but thankfully it was a cheap lesson to learn as its only 15quid from ducati. that little space in the spacer to get the bearing off is meant to be at the bottom when using not top.

i got the neutral light working as well but I don't have a clue how. i replaced the wire going to the rear of the engine and it randomly started working. So I wonder if the bit on the rear of the engine basically dying?

  13. Some aftermarket side stand start solutions use the neutral light so it may ahve been an issue

  14. yeah I do have one of those tbf, but with it plugged or not the neutral light is intermittent

but she passed MOT today so winnings
