Hi everyone, after months of turmoil in my personal life and then a few weeks of telling myself that the Multistrada was a much more sensible option for me than the Hypermotard I really wanted (I’m 71 and have never done sensible before), I have today put a deposit down on a 2018 950 from Seastar Superbikes in Norwich. First job is to cut the windscreen down and paint it black and while it’s off I’ll fix a bracket for my Tom Tom gps. Yes, I’ve been looking at this forum for the past week and I’d like to say thanks for all the inspiration you guys have given me!
Congrats on the new bike. Rather than chopping the screen down, I have a Puig dark tinted racing screen for sale if you're interested!
Thanks. I’ve seen that one on a bike on the forum and the owner said it was noisy and windy! He kept it on his bike because it looks cool and I would probably do the same. I did see a post from someone who had chopped his screen and he was very pleased with the results. How have you found the Puig screen?
I found it much better than the stock screen, for buffeting. I’m now running a pikes peak screen though.
I've been riding pretty much continuously since i was 16 apart from a 4 year gap when I lived in Florida. I will continue to ride as long as I can get my leg over and that applies to all activities in my life!
Thanks for the reply but I've just discovered the (very expensive) Ducati carbon screen! I’m very tempted by that as, at the moment, it’s the only mod I intend to do. Just in case I can't bring myself round to paying that much for a screen, how much do you want for your Puig screen?
The PP one is awesome, just mega money. There are knock offs around, but I wanted the genuine article! My Puig is now sold, so you have to get the PP screen!
Oh, is that the Peaks Pike screen, I did wonder as I've seen several references to it. Thanks for letting me know about your Puig screen.
I use the short PP screen for normal rides but use the standard screen with a wind deflector for long trips. They are adjustable so you can fiddle with it until you get the best set up (not pretty but they are effective). There is German Wunderlich one which is better made https://www.wunderlich.de/shop/en/wunderlich-windshield-extension-vario-ergo-20280-002.html There are also eBay Chinese knock offs https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adjustab...-Wind-Fit-BMW-KTM-Aprilia-Ducati/133240904985
I’ve just discovered the Pikes Peak screen is made by Givi, the carbon screen I’m looking at is Ducati.
Just found this https://www.bestemusa.com/2018-2019-Ducati-Multistrada-9501260-Carbon-Fiber-Windscreen_p_2994.html Anyone any experience of it?
Buys new bike. Starts thread. Doesn't post pictures. Poor. By the way, I have one of these: Ducati MTS1200 Multistrada 2015> Onwards Adjustable Motorcycle Touring Screens (bikehps.com) Still in the bag, never opened, if you're interested. You will have to check that it fits though.
If you read my original post you would see that I said I have put a deposit down on a new bike. I also said I was looking for a smaller screen not an IMAX!
I think any of the short pikes peak screens would work, keep your eyes open in the for sale section and eBay and you will probably pick one up fairly quickly
