thanks for the welcome ,as i said in my first post about getting my 996 running again .my first question ,what is new parts availability like , ie new crank and rods heads barrels, pistons ,and possibly crank cases . plus any idea on price a ducati main agent i spoke to was most unhelpful .even a guestimate would be a help thanks
Bit of a split opinion about ordering from these guys (delivery can be slow), however, their website is good to quickly look up the price of new parts https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ I would always check round on eBay and faceache market place etc too I found most parts relatively ok to get hold of for my 996, not really had any problems there’s a top drawer independent down here close to me (Louigi Moto) who is invaluable and will help if parts when I’m stuck so worth finding an independent by you if you can. Moto Rapido are good too and if you give them a call I’m sure they’ll help. Personally unless it’s a newish bike, I stay away from main dealers. And of course, keep your eye out on here too, I’ve bought some great stuff off folks on here
Drop me a pm if you want with a list. Vin number would help with SPS parts. Some of what you mention could be hard to get, but I can give you a start with what’s still available from the factory
most of the dealers couldn’t tell you the difference between a Desmo and a Desmond tbh as above, go specialist
