1999 Rear Brake Master Cylinder Compatibility

  1. I need to service or replace mine.

Which other models fitted the same part as a 1999 900ss please?

I imagine the Monster 900 part is the same but are there any others?

    Thanks

  2. think you can still get these new £60 or so, your original one (gold?) is the PS11B type, so 916 748 etc. Take care with some of the monster ones as they can differ.

edit: just a thought, if you you're struggling to bleed the rear caliper (underslung?) remove it and raise it above the height of the of the M/cyl, use a spanner between pads when bleeding.

  3. Thanks. That’s really helpful. My MC is gold.

I bled it at the nipple yesterday just as a quick fix but it didn’t get all the air out. Before I shell out on a new MC I’ll have another go and bleed it at the top using the banjo bolt attaching the pipe to the MC.

  4. ...I had real trouble bleeding the rear brake on my SS...eventually, I took it off and raised it up and it bled perfectly, first time...:upyeah:
