My Spidey senses are telling me that you should buy a TZR250 engine and test this theory out.... Then blog your journey with a thread on here and become the coolest member ever..... You know it makes sense.....
My teenager needs it until he can sort his A2 out and I need to sort the S2r tank and my pick up before I can start any new projects, but it'll give me plenty of time to find an engine... hmmm. And even if I did all that, I still wouldn't be cool though.
I am really pleased this post didn't upset anyone being on a Ducati site. This is the second one I have restored, the first was a MK2 that I genuinely did buy from a bloke down the pub. I have taken both bikes completely apart and done full restorations, the MK 2 had an engine rebuild professionally as it needed the crank sorting. It was much higher mileage. My experience with them is that they are really well engineered, but it is impossible to ride them outside the point where the power valve opens up. Almost unbelievably, they are more uncomfortable than a 748 too.
that's cool, I should have been clearer in saying that my experience has been that Mito's have been tricky if not looked after, I tried to say that I have probably only experienced bad ones, but probably wasn't clear. My mate has one that tbh needs and engine refresh and light cosmetics, but he's the sort of friend that to sell something to a mate he always wants at least what he paid for it, doesn't give a penny away.
