Removed the rounded out Allen bolt from gear lever of my v4 streetfighter , and changed it to race shift so it's the same as the track bike. It's just saves having to think about it when swapping between the 2
Changed the oil on the Wifes Speedmaster to get ready for her first MOT, the bike that is, no the Mrs!
I like a secure wiring harness. Or fairing. Or in fact anything I can get a cable tie around. Might do them in black when I put it back together so the p@ss takes cant see them
Sorry ducv2, no offence intended mate , I’ve been in “ sarcastic tw4t” mood all day, ..much to the Wife’s annoyance....who is about ready to divorce me I think ? I suppose it’s the byproduct of a lifetime career in engineering, years of brutal p1ss taking means my skin is so thick there’s nothing in the middle
Absolutely no offence taken whatsoever. It's a standing joke the amount of cable ties I use on stuff. In between moving the bike there were lots of savage comments about my fetish.
Washed all the salt & winter crud off the poor XBR500 winter workhorse, came up ok, was relieved & felt guilty for putting her through it... Hyper needs mot, hopefully next week so xbr500 can have a rest...
^^^^ if you ride an XBR on salty roads check out the underside of the swinging arm - mine rotted out from the inside
Easy Peasy fix, here’s a linky for you on a how to install,...pics have gone unfortunately but you’ll get the idea https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/136604-Oil-sight-glass-replacement
Dug a bit more corrosion out of one of the horizontal cylinder barrel stud passageways which is preventing the barrel moving. Nearly halfway to the crank cases now. Ho hum...
Harpic max , it's 10% hydrochloric acid , do it with exhaust cold , I wore gloves , used a paint brush to apply it , wait 10mins , rubbed with a scouring pad , cleaned off with water and dry with cloth , had to repeat several times at the top of the headers , link pipe cleaned up first go , then hosed it all off , the ran the engine for 10 mins , to day I finished it off with sandpaper various grades 60 , 120 ,240, 400 ,800 ,1200 ,2000 . Then applied autosol and buffed it up with a cloth , going to buff the headers again on my next day off .
.....bought a new battery.....shout out for Tayna batteries btw, click and collect spot on.....fitted it and spent a good five minutes listening to the engine!!
