Hi, Bought some new well nuts for the connections between the side fairings and the nose cone. Struggling to pull them though the hole. I'm assuming you pull them through from the back - leaving the nut in place in the rubber. Any ideas as to how to make this easier? The nose cone is fitted so it might be easier if I take it off and can push them in from the back? I'm sure it shouldn't be this difficult? Thanks Neil
Thanks, Nose cone off tomorrow - think it will be much easier that way rather than trying to pull it through from the front. Thanks Neil
The nuts fit in the holes in the side fairings, not in the nose fairing. The mushroom screws, with thin plastic washers fitted, then go through the nose fairing & into the Well nut or Rawl nut as some may know them as. The correct fairing screws also have a step on them, which should locate in the hole in the nose fairing. These screws only need tightening up by hand.
Thank you! I had stupidly thought the side fairing overlapped the nose cone but as you say it goes below. The side fairings were safely stored above my head otherwise it would have been obvious! The well nuts are (not surprisingly) much easier to fit in the larger hole Thank you so much Cheers Neil
All reassembled thank you This little episode reminded me of an incident years ago with my dad and me trying to get his Suzuki Bloop 2 stroke oil pump to pump. After much fiddling my mum suggested we might have the inlet and outlet pipes mixed up - we ignored her and then half an hour later gave it a go and surprise suprise...... Cheers Neil
