Census - What Do You Believe ..... ?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by oldtech, Mar 5, 2021.

  1. Do you believe ( or trust ) HM Gov plc when they say that all census information is confidential ?

The 2011 Census was contracted out to Lockheed Martin !!
Yes , you read it right , the very same firm that makes Trident missiles , F16 fighters etc.
    .... I don't know about the current census , I'm looking into it .... :p

We live in strange and twisted times .....
    ..... well , I do anyway .

  2. No idea to be honest but as a general rule of thumb I don’t trust the government. I find myself less likely to be let down then.

Anyway, if I am being spied on, there’s some poor people at gchq who will be requiring expensive therapy for the rest of their lives

  3. They seem to want to know a lot!
As above, never trusted any government or politician, however in these strange times it's the unelected Davos mob we need to look out for...:eyes:

  5. ..... and anyone who looks like them !

    I like your style !

But they can be mighty persistent if they put you on their doo-doo list .
Next stage will be a doorstep visit from two of them , and they will give an official caution
    ..... similar to PACE .

In the last census , a third refusal to comply could result in £1000 fine and a criminal conviction .
Having said that , only a couple of hundred people actually ended up in court , and many of those
were claiming to be " conscientious objectors " who simply would not stand for a foreign weapons manufacturer
poking into their private lives .

  6. All teeth and no bite that lot, catch me if you can as i don't give a damn about clueless pen pushers..i'm going underground from now on in.

  11. When did you receive your paper copy ? Andy

  12. Well in theory , you need to record every person in the property on the night of March 21st
.... but get this , it's fine to fill it out in advance , because we are all psychic , right ?

So it's already looking like the clowns annual day out .

As far as I can see , no deadline or final date has been published ..... so that should clarify everything .... or not.

  13. Earlier this week, Tuesday maybe?

  15. Filling in the census helps with planning for schools, health provision, transport funding and provision both locally and nationally. It gives a snapshot of the country and provides data for a great many government departments. It's only once every 10 years and you can get a £1,000 fine if you decide not to fill it in.

Of course I hate the idea of the government knowing personal data (hence not using the track and trace app) but to be honest Amazon, Google, Facebook etc already know 100 times more about you already so I don't think it's a big deal.

Plus in 300 years time your relatives can look you up for the family tree :)

  16. Is it sent recorded delivery? How would they prove you ever received one?

Its a huge and really valuable set of information. The least they could do with a tiny part of the profits from selling it on would be to pay for poor pensioners (non tax payers) BBC licence.

  17. ....and i thought this was a safe working environment with no outside meddling whatsoever.

  18. Arethe fishermen’s friends included as a bribe? Asking, well for a friend obvs

  20. I got the envelope today, and they were looking to recruit door knockers recently too £14 ph . Being made redundant last year I applied, and failed at the first questionnaire 3 times, apparently your not supposed to say go and ask your manager about anything.
