I'm late to this so please excuse. I have never really been into cycling but in the distant past, I did triathlons and biathlons. I also cycled from Bristol to London in a day for charity (about 90 miles). I now do indoor cycling every day on a exercise bike bought for me under the rehab code. The cocksuckers at DVLA believed that I hadn't been punished enough for the accident that wasn't my fault and so they suspended my driving license - frustrating! But the bastids can't stop me from cycling. As the days get longer and the weather warmer, I am contemplating getting an electric bike so that I can do a bit more distance. Anyone got an electric bicycle?
My brother (bit of an unfit lump) bought a Riese & Müller, (Muller Rice as I call it) and he loves it, gets out and about with a buddy also with a lecky bike, up the Ridge Way and the surrounding area.
That's the penine bridleway between hebden bridge and Burnley, that's the gorple section. Was back over that way again yesterday, it's a tough ride with lots of big hills but great to ride too, conditions are excellent at the minute.
I've caved, it's great , a pleasant 35miles off road on Sunday ,not blowing out of my arse getting to the top of the South Downs or feeling like I might die when I get home.
