Rear brake pedal broken (mounting intact), cracks and scuffs to fairing (both sides) and r/h mirror casing. EOBD light stays on when bike is started and bike now leaks blue fluid beneath the fairing. Small tear in rear seat. Currently SORN and on trickle charge in garage. Options: (1) Do nothing, keep it SORN and in garage (Really? That's an option?); (2) Remove fairing and parts that require refurbishment and take them to a (dealer /local spray shop /reputable hobbyist recommended by Ducati owner(s); (3) Buy Ducati replacement parts; (4) Have EOBD light and leak looked at by (Ducati dealership /club member /reliable enthusiast). Apart from MoT & Service and moving the bike 7 miles to my house, it has been garaged, but I intend spending the rest of today removing the fairing and having a good nose around. Mind you, 'her indoors' reminded me that I'm better at stripping than replacing.....I have been warned. In the meantime, 2 x images, pre-damage:
May be small things that can be easily solved. The 749/999 had a coolant hose that was incorrectly installed so that it rubbed on the blade of the left hand fan. The pipe is easily replaced and the system does not need draining, just topping up. The EOBD code can be displayed on the dash by holding down the left dash button whilst turning on the ignition. Keep the button held down and the code(s) will be displayed. Just Google Ducati Fault Codes. Post here once known.
You released the button too early. Keep it held in. You will get 3 numbers in this format xx.x eg 37.1
Hi. I spent this afternoon removing the paintwork and cleaning it, front and back. I also cleaned my Smart ForTwo whilst at it. Completely forgot to check radiator and pipe work for damage/wear. Will wheel it out tomorrow and check.
I tried a variety of timings, from nano to ten seconds. Keeping the button depressed gave me the standard dash display where the 'code key' icon came on for 1-2 secs, but nowt else. That's when I opted for the quicker button release.
The light comes on when the ignition switch is turned and stays on throughout. The bike wants to tell me something, but appears reluctant to put anything but a '.' in the code box. For what it is worth, the bike has been a bugger to get started since I've had it back. Should I check the starter wiring/connections The light remains on throughout. Hi again. Regarding the EF1 '.' error code, could it be due to my pouring fuel into the front of the two filler holes in the fuel tank? I admit that I was not concentrating at the time and only realised my mistake when the wife asked why there was fuel on the lounge....oops, garage floor. I do not have a repair manual and have no clue what the front hole is for
