  1. Wow. Frank Zappa....saw him at Hammersmith Odeon in 1977. Actually rode there on my Honda 250.

  2. It's a shortened form of 'Ireland' (like the registration plate).....you face the other way when riding:thinkingface:. Dynargh an forum...welcome to the forum, from a relative newcomer himself.

  3. you're joking, was that the one where Ravi Shankar made a guest appearance? - my memory is shot but if it was, then i was there also.

  4. All I can remember is it was fekkin' cold and no Mr. Shankar.

  6. Cheers all. Looking forward to actually riding my new bike now.
I am well aware of the undesirable effects of starting things like "which oil is best?" : unamused: threads, but....

No, I'll go to the SS section. That way, the recriminations won't be so bad....:imp:
    (It's about tyres, if you're interested....)

  12. Aha, the hardback edition, no doubt signed by John Haynes himself, with a little personalised dedication. Dust cover?

I've got to say, though, that a Haynes doesn't start to look lived in until it's got a few oily fingerprints on it, and for the real connoisseur, a mug-ring or two...:D

  13. And as we all know, "re-assembly is the reverse of the dis-assembly process" - simple, isn't it?
My own favourite was the picture of a peg-box-spanner, optimistically filed from a piece of old gas-pipe, which, it was intimated, was more than up to the task of removing any castellated nut that you might happen upon during your journey into the bowels of your machine (old Honda owners (in both senses!) will know what I'm on about...)

  14. No it’s not signed but it’s well used with the obligatory finger prints and oil marks etc :D
