Recently fitted as set of GB racing covers to the bike. Straight forward enough, I've had a few sets of these on previous bikes. Removing the fairings gave me chance to give everything a good clean too!
Nice mate , Had GB covers on a few bikes only thing annoyed me is the lettering soon goes back to black unless they changed it ? Bike looks good from what i can see
Yeah can’t go wrong with these engine covers.... guilty of destroying one a few years ago! But zero damage underneath. I opted for the DP carbon covers on the V4. They are well built and pretty thick in material, but let’s say I don’t think they would hold up so well as the GB racing covers So what’s up next then Paul?
Depends how much you wash it i suppose, I counteract that by never getting it dirty! Yeah its a very low mileage 2020 model, only had it since January!
Yes Dave, hopefully I'll never destroy one but they're cheaper than replacement engine casings! Once you get it in your head you need them though, it becomes psychological.....I have to put them on any new bike I get now!! As you may have noticed I've removed the Aruba.it decals after you pressured me into it!! not sure what's next though, you might have also noticed on our other forum, I bought a new set of Ixon leathers and gloves so I need to calm it down a bit now. I've got a set of carbon heel guards in my basket I'll be checking out on before the end of the night! just need to ride the thing
DP carbon covers offer almost no protection. I had a low speed slide in the wet across about 1/2 track width at Donington last year and the clutch cover was worn completely through. Learnt my lesson and sold the undamaged alternator cover from the other side, and fitted the much more sturdy GB Racing covers instead.
Yeah I thought as much! Don’t normally get suckered into parts that have zero benefits other than looking good.... always used GB protectors before.... So the DP ones might well find themselves on the for sale section soon
Think it’s the same for most.... Some Protection, Rad guards are also high on the list! .. Never been a fan of all that sticking out R&G stuff..... some people are mad for it.... fork sliders, swingarm sliders, tank sliders etc. I suppose if you had a spill at walking pace you might be ok..... anything at higher speed and it’s just going to dig in and flip. Or rip something off. Yeah the bikes look sweet. Much prefer the newer look. Sometimes less is more if that makes sense. But it’s all personal preference....I quite fancy a big change up at the end of this season if it’s still about. Going all Matte Black but with the Corse graphics in like a Nardo grey and Silver. And brushed aluminium tank. Will use the DP race fairing kit and box all the OE stuff up.....
