The Mrs had her AZ jab this am. Sore arm and cold symptoms came on late pm and resting heart rate is up a bit. Paracetamol time then!
I read a headline on my phone today, I must admit to not reading the article because I was supposed to be working but, the headline said that France and Italy halted AZ vaccine due to politics over Brexit. Really? I have no way of backing this up but if true I find that amazingly idiotic. I’m sure someone can put me right tho.
I wouldn’t be surprised. France are green with envy over our vaccine roll out. And I’ve worked with enough Italians to learn they can be a bit odd with their logic. They’re a pain in the arse to work with. I’d hate to run a Ducati dealership.
I'm working with a French lad at the moment and he says that all his mates and everyone he knows back home are anti vaccine.
A lot of people are mate. I couldn’t give a shit about it myself. I don’t fear COVID-19 one tiny bit. But I have to travel a lot so I’ll have to have it, like most people. And I’m not that precious about unknown substances going into my body. I spent a lot of weekends off my face in the 90’s
It certainly seems like a political decision rather than a medical one given that both the WHO and the European medicines regulator believe the AZ vaccine to be safe.
Quite They’re behaving like proper cvnts now. Reneging on contractual agreements on the distribution of vaccines. They just keep digging. Farage was bang on. Ludicrously bureaucratic. Beautifully illustrated with the latest debacle.
You’ll believe in this headline too then Which is an utterly ridiculous headline aimed at those hard of thinking and foaming at the mouth at anything EU. The number one export destination for vaccines made in the EU is the UK. 41 million vaccine doses have been exported from the EU to 33 countries. 10 million have gone to the UK. That’s more than the total number of vaccines given in the UK in February. And how many vaccines manufactured in the UK do you think have gone to the EU? Absolutely Zero. Zilch. Nada. None.
All true what you've said, but the vaccines supplied from the EU to the UK have not been 'supplied by the EU' , they have been supplied by a private company which resides in the EU under lawful contractual obligations, contractual obligations that were signed and sealed 3 months before 'the EU' made their move after much procrastinating. The headlines are all bollocks, but the fact remains that the EU moved way too slow, they've since fudged and fucked about with messaging on vaccines, losing confidence left right and centre amongst their populations, have perfectly usable vaccines in their millions sat in fridges unused due to either 'pausing rollout' or literally people not turning up due to a lack of confidence mainly caused by a variety of ill informed politicians making inaccurate or blatantly false statements. Its been a clusterfuck of epic proportions, that's the reality. So yes, companies within the EU may have exported more than the EU has accepted in, but that fault lays squarely with the EU for delay and bad management. But they're all politicians, what do we expect
I do find it funny how we aren’t allowed to say anything negative about the EU but can gladly slag of the UK. I wouldn’t be at all supplied if they did try to block vaccines coming here, especially after the headline I read yesterday about France and Italy. Suppose Zhed will be along shortly to put me right
I wasn’t disputing the delays and bad management by the EU, because clearly they’ve made mistakes with regards to procurement of the vaccines. I was merely pointing out ridiculous and completely untrue headlines continually perpetuated by self serving buffoons.
Of course you can “slag off” the EU if they have made mistakes. However what we are seeing in the British press is rhetoric issued by an increasingly authoritarian government that is trying to deflect scrutiny from its own mistakes and continually corrupt actions.
Hi I don’t believe anything in the press, which is why I posted yesterday about a headline I’d read. Still don’t like the EU tho so ner ner!!!
So, it seems, according to Radio 4 Today that next month's vaccine shortage in the UK is mainly because India has suddenly halved its serum deliveries to the UK. Nothing to do with the EU. Would the UK press care to redirect its bile...?
