Mileage

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by RadiheadR6, Jun 11, 2013.

  1. My 916 has done 45k, Monster (since rebuild) less than 1k - need to get out more.

  2. Just coming up to 6k on mine, had it since April last year.

When I picked it up the guy told me when I came to sell it they were always looking for good low milage examples....told him he wasn't going to be interested in mine then ;)

  3. 848 - 27k miles, Desmo - 17k miles and Pani - 3k miles in the last three years spread across the bikes. They were acquired in that order so the mileage is now getting spread.....

Made to be ridden, and not many major "let me down" dramas in that list. Only stranded twice, the rest were wear and tear.....

  4. That's me! I barely have enough time now to ride my bike and I also have two other Ducati's. My main bike a 998 which has only done just over 4,000 miles from when I bought it new in 2002. The last few years have seen me ride very little. But I wouldn't part with it. I'll get out on it one day, I didn't buy it as a toy though and it had been used here and abroad in the early days.

  5. Bought my multistrada a few weeks ago as a bike to use it has hardly been in the garage since i bought it and it's used in all weathers as well as my zx9. My mille is now reserved for the best days as i have spent a small fortune on it and i have a 94 fzr1000exup bought as hopefully a future classic that's used so mileage on each isn't huge but between them is.i

  6. 34000 on my 748 and its being used regularly .

  7. 'I don't buy a chocolate bar just to stare at the wrapper!' Brilliant! My sentiments entirely!
My 1198 had his first yearly service yesterday, on 4,500 miles. Not too shameful i reckon, when you consider i don't get to use it in the week as i work away. It's been to the IOM (I'm in Devon), the occasional trip to Portsmouth and done a Ride Safe day thingy at Castle Coomb. In between MOTs the ZZR has managed 8,000 plus. This includes a trip from Newcastle, a few trips to Portsmouth and a couple of trips to North Wales and Yorkshire. Incidentally, they Ducati has let me down just the once. A flat battery. I've no idea as to why, it was totally dead but charged fine. It's also just had it's third set of tyres fitted...
Theyre too big to be ornamental.
It's not intergallactic mileage i agree....

  8. This is partially my rationale for the imminent purchase of either a Laverda 750 formula, Benelli tre900 or MV Agusta F4 750. While I bought my ducati to ride I am looking at long term ownership and don't want to put excessive mileage on it. My CBR 600 will do a lot of the work, with the perfect sunny afternoon rides split evenly between the Ducati and the Laverda (the laverda is probably the most likely of the three)

On a day that's nice enough, but there is a chance of rain, or just nipping out for a breakfast run on a Saturday morning with mates, the CBR is the kiddie.

  9. The 2003 SV1000S K3 I traded in for the Monster had 4490 miles on it and one owner. All documented, rode really well and was a total bargain. I put 2000 miles on it in 8 months, but had to sell as I buggered my shoulder over xmas and couldn't ride with the drop bars.

Tend to do about 5000 miles a year, which is spread over two bikes (1954 BSA and the Monster) which isn't bad as I'm only home on weekends

  10. My old 748 has got just over 22k on her now. Just off to do another 100 or so as its nice out.
I have done more miles on the Duc in two years than I did in 8 years on my srad & R1 combined!

  11. true, but its nice to play pocket billiards when youre watching your latex french maid pornstar mistress doing the house work...

  12. I hope she washes her hands after touching the toilet, still looks she knows how to clean well,if she can keep the bike that clean I reckon she's got the job.My ST4s just coming up to 40000 miles.
