  1. Don't you just love Sales type car snobbery lol

    (only pulling your leg bradders)

  2. Wondering if he'll stick a sun strip on it with his name........ :p

  3. I will add
The sales director and sales team at the company i work for would never again touch a Merc with a barge pole!
Top boys now drive Beemers and the ass kissers now drive Audi or VW's.

  4. It's not snobbery Steve, its one-up-manship

Going to have a sticker in the back saying 'my other ride is a battered old Master' make sure I keep with my working class routes...and just hope people don't think I'm an ex public school boy

  5. I'll have this car for prob 90k miles so 2 years or so, by then I'll hopefully be in Porsche territory....

    .....then I woke up!

  6. Don't touch a Merc mate! unless you buy the models still made in germany!

  7. Fuck it, get a Honda. You're about the right age for one!:eek:

  8. Volvo something.

Some of their estate cars look pretty cool. And they're not German.

  10. Well, personally I'd have an Alfa, but they are sort of "between cars" at the moment aren't they?

    Could get a 159 I suppose - that's a nice motor.

  11. Check the Alfa range, its crap! Only 2 models to choose from.

  12. Next Saturday  IMG_1039a.jpg

  13. Choice is Guiletta or Mito.

  14. After 10+ years of 320d Tourers I tried out and loved the Volvo V60 (don't laugh!) and have one in Ducati red

The car rides so much nicer on our rubbish roads than the beemer and the 5 cyl engines are sweet. Cabins a really nice place to be in R Type trim of course! The D5 is a stonking engine and the emissions and mpg are good. It's also good to be in something a little different (and it's not German )

  15. What kind of mpg are you getting Kirky? I have considered an X60 but think a bit juicy.

  16. Cant beat a Volvo ,had three well the wifey has:upyeah: nice and safe for the kids and great reliability

  17. Beemer 5 series, best car in the world so they say ...

Have you looked at new 3 series GT also the new Merc CLA ?

Your car choice sounds the same as mine, I can't ignore the 5 series and really seems little to compare but i like the idea of a GTi or the new A3 Quattro or 125D which really shift.

  18. CLA top of list and hoping to get an all day test next week. If its big enough in the back for my son and the engine is not too noisy, I'll be ordering by the end of the week

  19. For me at least, that list is a no brainer - it would be the Mercedes all day. If you have freedom to move away from that what about a Honda Accord? excellent cars. (and not just because I have one!) mine is a 2002 and has just shy of 140,000 on it and still feels new. It's noticeably smoother and quieter than my managers 61 plate Audi A3
