My Lovely New 749r (first ride)

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by clueless, Jun 16, 2013.

  1. Now I consider myself a fairly decent rider. Quite fast, done lots of track days. Quite old now :frown: and sensible.

However, this bike is way better than me.

I have never ridden a bike that turns so quick !

I felt humbled !.. and am I not worthy

  2. Pics or you don't have one!

  7. Out of interest what's up with the clutch?
    Enjoy the bike.

  8. Not sure Doc, It's not right though.

A screech as I pull off and have to give it a lot of revs to avoid stalling ! It needs looking at defo.

  9. Sounds like a slipper clutch to me :upyeah: they all do that sir lol

  10. A Std cheap impersonation of a slipper clutch to me,throw the std one away and put a proper one in it.

  11. Glad you are pleased with the r :) we will have to take them both for a spin when the weather stays dry.

  12. Hee hee !

  13. Look forward to it.

Maybe a Ducati Sunday breakfast blast to Mersea Island ?

  17. Nice, congratulations:upyeah:

  18. Tidy, my clutch used to be quite screechy too when I first got it but I doesn't do it so much now. I think it just needed to be ridden a bit.

I've been a bit naughty with mine the last week or so. I know I shouldn't but I've been thrashing it back and forth to work in the pissing rain. It's just as much fun in the wet on shagged old racetec interacts as it is in the dry, just takes hours to clean it.

    Enjoy.
