999 Lockdown Upgrades!

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Wooly46, Feb 4, 2021.

  1. I didn’t pal! I’d love to know what exactly the weight difference is from std to the Ducati forged wheels. Not sure the bank balance will fund me a pair of oz or something similar :sob:

  2. When I swapped my M1100 standard wheels for forged Hypermotard 1100 wheels I measured the weights - front wheel is same as 749:

    Front with tyre (no discs)
    Standard: 8.45kg
    Forged: 7.35kg

Just measured my spare 749R forged rear - with 180/60 Supercorsa, no disc or Cush drive:
    11.8kg.
I don’t have a standard rear to compare though.

  4. Bit more done yesterday with preparation! New ProGrips and re wrapped the exhaust to try and stop the fat pipes burning through the bellypan! Looking at the old rs Corse bikes, this seemed a never ending job, I noticed the old ones that Tom was selling off Haslam’s and lavilla’s bikes were burnt completely through! The joys of the 57mm :joy:

  6. Thanks pal, all I need now is to find out more about these microtec m197 ecus, apparently they are really good on these bikes it’s just the £700 price tag that’s putting me off

  7. Lock wired now just for those who were wondering

  10. Hopefully the seat should be back this week so I can finish off the rear end, then just wait for the dyno at the end of the month and she’s ready to go :upyeah:

  11. That’s it then! DP race seat has been recovered in non slip neoprene and I’ve fitted the pin and grommet to stop the rear from flapping about! All set for the dyno now, each cylinder to be mapped and see if there’s any improvements to be had :upyeah:

  12. That's a mighty nice seat. Where did you get it? Mine is a bit worn out. Glad the pin and grommet solved the issue for you.

  13. Well I got the seat foam from Andrew Otter, it’s a DP thicker race pad and I had it covered with non slip neoprene by Kelly Volkswagen on Facebook
