Removed and split my CG125 engine to re-shim the output shaft. Too much end play was causing vibration. Then re-fitted the engine. Takes about an hour to do in total if you stop for a cup of tea. It also received some general cleaning, lubricating and servicing after its winter use doing the shopping. It was, of course, taken for a test run to visit my 'Extended Household'.
He did suggest I just remove the indicators and come back but I figured that once I’d gone to the hassle of removing them I may as well refit new ones. Anyway. I’ve refitted the OE ones that look like donkeys’ ears and I’ll take it back to get my ticket tomorrow
Spoke to my neighbour Dan whilst he was cleaning his RSV4 Factory. He's out on it tomorrow and I can't make it because we've got visitors, but we are going out together on Wednesday
Powders on the Multistrada and Scrambler this morning in preparation for a ride this afternoon. Sadly Carole is suffering from diviculitis and is in too much discomfort Fired up another bonfire instead. Andy
Yesterday. Had a go at removing the airbox from the 900ss bobber/fighter so I could modify it into a hidey hole for all the nasty electrickery such as wiring, relays, fuse box and coils etc, only to find that some of the fasteners are seized and the heads rounded out when trying to undo them. Now strongly considering removing said item from bike using dynamite
Finally got around to fitting the other side lol! Thought I better had as I’m at snett next week!!! Then I stupidly say to the lads” yeah bring em round to mine and we’ll do oil and filters!! Guess who ended up doing the effing lot!!!
Finally fitted these Ducabike bling-tastic smartie buttons, I’m a real pretend racer twat things. Took more than 10 bloody minutes that I read in the blurb. Must be worth 3 seconds a lap eh??
I’ve just had a couple of hours on the V2 for the first time this year. Stuck mainly to the back roads and did about 65 miles at a nice brisk pace
Holy shit!! That bike looks mega! What type of PPF did you go for? I went for the spray applied ppf on the RSV4
Thanks, local company in Doncaster. Xpel PPF I think it's called. Did a great job. Looks like a sucked boiled sweetie with the downlights on it.... Terrified of cartwheeling it into the kitty litter now though... If we ever get to do euro's again....
You've kind of built a showroom toy. Maybe you should buy another trackbike to throw at the kitty litter rather than beauty?
Yesterday. Finally managed to get the 900ss bobber’s airbox off but the bolts attaching the ÉCU bracket are still seized. Now to label and detach all the wiring, move it to the offside of the bike, cut a slot in that side of the airbox and pop the rats’ nest of wires, relays and connectors in there. I’ll need to find some way of mounting pods or cones on the air intakes but they’re made of floppy rubber so some creative thought is needed.
