Out trying to get my lockdown legs working again... Quite a cool blustery day compared to yesterday, not only are my legs not used to it any more, but the. “Rusty bullethole “ was protesting a bit as well !
Yer not wrong - it appeared to be warmer than it was. a cold & cheeky breeze it was. Only slightly underdressed....so to speak. I'd have been happy with 16mph though!
Good ride out today, 26 miles of mud, water and even a little dry. Not much tarmac as usual and how I like it....
Another ride today in freakishly warm weather only took one base layer off though cos it is still March! First ride out with a few mates that I haven’t seen for about five months, good to catch up!
£30. Needed a bit more work this one. The clickers and mechs were a mess! I'm becoming quite the bike whisperer. It's actually really good fun to ride, more comfy than the roadie and a lot lighter than a sprung MTB. Ideal for local lanes ect. Got 27.5 wheels with bouncy tyres.
"a lot lighter than a sprung MTB" that's exactly why i went for non-sprung/alloy forks, but about to dispense with that now due to neck problems.
I personally wouldn't bother with suspension for road/gravel. Best all rounder for me would prob be a gravel bike.
Hopefully picking one of these up tomorrow for my boy's 21st. It's a VanMoof S3 eBike. https://www.vanmoof.com/en-GB/s3?color=dark It has all sorts of trick kit, including an inbuilt alarm and GPS tracker with (apparently) a remote locking facility. Seeing as the lock is a spring loaded pin which locates into the slots in the rear brake disc, it if ever got nicked I imagine it would be quite good fun to keep an eye on the GPS and wait until the scrote is doing 45mph down a steep hill before activating the lock. However, I imagine that some boring 'elf and safety person will have mandated that such a thing cannot be allowed and so you can only lock it while the bike is stationary.
Oh dear an end to using cheeky trails over privately owned land. Warning a take on the new Police powers bill https://westcountrybylines.co.uk/we...e-powers-bill-and-the-hard-won-right-to-roam/
