Ducabike Dry Clutch Pressure Plate

  1. So small bank holiday project to fit open clutch cover, ducabike black pressure plate, anodised red screw caps etc. Managed to undo everything all ok but could not shift the main shaft from the original Ducati clutch pressure plate so everything else has been fitted except the new pressure plate. It doesn’t look too bad but not quite how I intended it. The new pressure plate already has the bearing installed and I could not shift just the shaft fir love nor money. I’m giving up and booking it in to a dealership to fix unless any can suggest anything or fancies popping to Epsom to help for say £40 or so ? Cheers.

  2. The pushrod will pull out with a bit of force. Maybe drop a socket over the pushrod and use it like a slide hammer onto the pressure plate. A bit of heating and penetrating oil on the radial bearing would not hurt either.

  3. IIRC you can just tap it out from the other side can't you? Put it on something like a workbench with the rod sticking down through a hole and tap it. Tappity tappity. Give it a little taparoo.

  4. How very strange i've just bought a new roller needle bearing / seal, plus the rod is on backorder as very worn today from my local.

  5. Over an open vice so there is enough only for the rod to come out and tap away. May work ? I’ve moved a few things similar in that way

  6. Or another option save a bit and spray the original cover, mine is opposite colours to yours.

  7. Clamp the rod vertically in a vice and pull the pressure plate upwards. Make sure you do it equally to avoid bending the rod. Also try @Cream_Revenge ’s tappitty tappitty action.
