(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. Why didn’t you buy the new battery from Halfords with a discount card? I get all my batteries from Halfords now, much better price and good life guarantees too.

  2. Gave up nodding back in the nineties, seems utterly pointless.:)

I’d stop if someone was broken down though.

  3. Made a bead braker and fiddled with suspension to try to counter this

  4. there's a whole thread in the making right there.. ^ you must have read up, and talked to many already about it George, what tyre pressure are you running/could it be a little high?

  5. Nah. He just a hooligan. :joy:

I had a nice ride around Oxon/Bucks with @RC1 - him on the 749s and me on the Pani. Gorgeous weather.

  7. 24 hot which is about minimum for a SC. Suspension guy recons I'm super heating the tyre buy spending a long time on the power at that angle. We've made a few adjustments.

Bob at FWR said Silverstone would destroy the tyres anyway.

  8. Lovely day up here so a little run around Leyburn, Masham, Northallerton etc, 18 C ..great!

  9. Did some valve adjusting on my Kawasaki - (thought the bevel drive might go down well on here) and got some insurance quotes for my 900ss. Lower £ than I thought - think the for sale ad will be getting canceled and it will be going back on the road for the summer :).

  12. Not a bike thing but moved car for 1st time in a year. Rear drivers side brake light lens cover fell off!? Shame I was reversing at the time.

  14. Got an old part worn Racetec fitted to my Monster front wheel and chucked it on the bike.
This is in case my Aprilia mate wants to come to the Brands Ducati day and he can borrow my M1100S.

  15. Decided that the new Monster is ugly and that is struck off the list. The Supersport S is better but too expensive and that is teetering (Thanks for the pics, Tcrofty7). I considered the Aprilia Shiver and the BMW F900XR but thought, 'why get another tourer?' The Aprilia RS660 is top, but as pointed out here, the swinging arm is stupidly big!

Dunno if I will buy new because (in my opinion) there is too much crap on the market - I even found my self looking at Kawasaki!

I am looking for a non-jap, light, powerful fun bike. Don't care about range, or load carrying or power (within reason) but won't something that doesn't offend me. Should be simple - but isn't : unamused:

As there is nothing that I want then I may well buy nothing and just stick to my Ducatis

  16. New wheels and new tyres fitted.

Serviced brake calipers, whilst the wheels were off and put new rbf660 fluid in all the lines.

  17. It might be a Triumph! That is a bike that I've never had (or wanted) before! Meets all of my criteria and price is not silly (£9,100) European (well, British, so even better) and got dealers in Bristol and Cheltenham, plus South Wales.

    I can't see a negative although I'm sure I'll find one!

Next job to chase up sol and find out WTF is happening to my claim. She always said that it would have to go to court - I think that the time has come to pull the pin!

  18. Or just go for the RS and get rear Ohlins @ £10,500, 121 bhp, stainless exhaust and X-ring chain. Just buy it and ride.
