Can anyone help me out with a part number for the tps please. I don’t understand why bike sport developments have them for £104 and I’ve seen them as little as £25. As usual, any help would be appreciated
Get yourself to a Fiat Dealers and buy part number 71738921 for a Fiat Punto 1.2. This will give you a genuine Magneti Marelli TPS. You will have to wreck the old one getting it out as there is a one way metal retention ring holding it in. You will see it on the new one. Note the orientation of the old one before removing use some form of marking.
I bought mine a couple of years ago and they were high £30’s then, so could be about right. The good thing is they are genuine MM. Much cheaper than a complete throttle body!!
They were £32 back in 2013 https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/749-999-money-saving-tip-for-broken-tps.14226/#post-214635
Found this @Wooly46 https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/magneti-marelli-8276269 £8.95 shipping under £120 spend.
Yeh I saw that pal, apparently there delivery times are shocking!!! Maybe worth getting a couple of spares though at that price!!!
So an update on the new tps. My bike has never started so easily!!!!! The dyno guys at P3 tuning said it wasn’t anything to worry about the poor starting as the 999r is a high compression lump and that I was over thinking things! Ditched the pc3, newer ecu from a 1198 which I’ve now flashed with help from the master ChrisW! It just goes to show how important it is to reset the tps and if it can’t be reset to the correct setting, bin it and buy a new fiat one. Not really a difficult job if you just take your time. Thanks again Chris, you are a diamond
