Cheers Jack. With the help of PGP I rescued her from 15 years of indolence and finally got out there. Tipping into Paddock Hill bend on the third lap I heard a weird scraping noise. Came into the pits and found the front right dzus fastener had popped out letting the fairing scrape the track at lean. Then had a further check over and noticed the rear disc was a strange blue colour. The fine metallic powder all over the rim was a worry, then the seeping pink fluid was game over....... What a bike though. No power <7k, then BOOM.... 8k and off she goes all the way to 12k.
8k to 12k. What motor is it - 748? Hope the fairing survived Paddock and Druids etc. But, fair play to you for using the bike as intended.
Small area of paint loss..... 748 RS, number six in this video Hoping to get back out there June 18th @ Castle Combe.
Cracking, nice to have that as a reference too. Is the ECU still in the nose? Thought it had to be a 748 when you talked about revs but didn’t realise it was an RS. I have the R that wakes up above 8k. Take care on the bump at Castle Combe.
Yes ECU in the nose, wild cams, fat top radiator, big Ohlins reservoir etc... I have an R as well, but the RS is on a different scale.
I remember Protwins were flogging these RS some 20 years ago I think they were over £15k but I could be wrong. Lovely bike and well done Paul for the rescue job and riding her on the track and not left in a museum
I got her for a bit less than that, but with the risk associated with 15 years no use. PGP brought her back to life after finding many failed consumables and a lot of $$$$.
Same gloves as me. I just bought a new pair. XL seemed a tad big and now I’ve bought L they seem a tad small.... fuuuurk!!! I’m hoping they stretch a bit....
I’m going to have to try harder with the photographer Thanks for making my 1inch wonder look shite mate
