  1. Best bike rucksack= kriega..... Second to none

  2. +1 for rossdj
you'd do better buying a good bike rucksack than a promo tool. But horses for courses i guess.

  3. I can vouch for Kriega. My mate is Dave Batchelor former MCN journo and he still has his R25 from years ago which also survived a fairly fast bin on a blackbird. Ironically he had it with him today many years on it still looks like new and indeed looks like the SAS supplied him with it.

Here is a review I dug out he wrote....worth the investment if you ask me!

    MOTORCYCLE NEWS LONG TERM TEST
    7th November, 2001

    Krug R25 Rucksack
I wish there was a better way of testing the toughness of my kit than crashing in it. I managed to dump a Honda Blackbird at 60 mph on the road and was lucky to walk away without a scratch.

The bike was a mess, but even though I'd flown through the air and rolled through a handily-placed gravel trap wearing a rucksack, I was shaken, but unstirred. Fortunately, I even managed to have clean underwear that evening at our hotel. Not just because I'm a man of steel, but because my rucksack didn't explode as it bit the dust.

How come? Because the bag on my back was a Krug R25, one of the roughest, toughest and yet most comfortable rucksacks money can buy. Looking more like an SAS parachute harness than a conventional rucksack, the R25's tough looks are backed up by a near bomb-proof construction. Ripstop nylon and Kevlar provide a tough outer weave around its 25-litre capacity, while a four-point buckle system fastens across the chest and keeps it tight to your body. A grippy material also prevents the R25 from sliding around once in place.

Add a built-in back protector and you quickly realise that this isn't any normal rucksack. Krug has designed the R25 and its bigger brother, the R35 (with a 35-litre capacity), exclusively for motorcyclists and this narrow focus pays dividends in terms of outright strength and ergonomic design.

They may sound Germanic, but Krug are actually a British design team, and they're so convinced of the soundness of their product they back it up with a 10-year guarantee against material or manufacturing failures.

Though no longer in showroom condition, the R25 is still serviceable, albeit with a small tear (though not along a seam) in the top flap.

    DAVE BATCHELOR'S VERDICT: 98%

  4. +1 on the kriega 25

  5. Sorry to be repetitive but Kriega is the Ducati of rucksacks. Buy yourself a Ducati patch off eBay for £1, stitch it on and voila - quality and style

  6. Kriega R30 is a far superior backpack compared to the R25. Used the R25 for several years before the R30 came out. Sold the R25 and kept the R30 which has better features and fits more comfortably.

  7. Amen. While you are at it wear some Ducati puma sneeks too

^^Looking at these online at the moment^^ thanks for the tip. Looks like I could fit the family in it extended out!

  8. You can get a Ducati rucksack at 'seen you coming', it's full of over priced stuff but everything has a Ducati sticker on it so it's worth it.

  9. +1 Kriega is the ultimate in Rucksac performance. It will probably outlast me!

  10. +1 for Kriega. Brilliant stuff. Ducati products are promo items sourced in China.i've got one which I use for the gym, not for the bike.
Kreiga every time for use on the bike.

  11. Kriega - had one for years.
When the zip broke after about 10 years, I got a brand new one for free as they are guaranteed for life.

    Top stuff.

  12. I was given one of the Ducati Corse Puma rucksacks by Ducati at WDW last year. It's shit.
The real worry was that it had an €80 price tag on it!

  15. i thought i wanted one until i used my mates kriega i bought one the same day the only bike pack to have . waiting for them to make clothing !

  16. Ive kreiga r15, us 10, us 20, R3. I tour around the alps in a combination of these. You will not buy better. Not just quality, but the rucksack allows better movement on the bike. Is easier to put on and secure with gloves on and cold hands. The tail packs dont scratch your tail piece. I put mine straight on the seat cowl. No marks. The R3 is a handy bum bag for fags, toll tickets, visa, etc. Again cold hand proof.

Ive had and have ducati rucksacks and theyre only good for pedestrian use carrying my sarnies, fags, wallet, phone, sweets to work. Ok I'm a mug. They saw me coming sure; but I bet theres high density of Dainese in the room.

  17. Kreiga didnt fit for me at all, hated it

Use a std 25l one and its been fine
