1260 Lever Swap

  1. Hi Folks,
I have short arthritic hands an am struggling with the oem lever set up on the 1260 so decided to take the pin out and move them down a bit so my hands aren't sitting so flat all the time, but alas i see you can only twist them a few mm lower before the indicator shroud starts to hit the tank on almost full lock so hardly worth the effort i think? I know its unlikely that i would be using full lock while riding the bike but I was wondering if maybe a change of lever would help. I am running mine on the closest setting to the grips but still think they are a bit too far away for my stubby fingers. Does anyone know if the Evotect ones have more adjustment than the oem ones and does anyone have some pictures of the long ones fitted so I can compare?
    Thanks in advance.

  2. Try risers under the bar stems. They’re available from Ducati. Not expensive. This allows you to obviously raise the bars and conversely, move the levers as low as you can without hitting tank.
I use Evotech long levers, have damaged hands, stumpy fingers and arthritis getting worse.

  3. I have the Gilles shorty levers on mine, which you may find more suitable, as you can adjust them much lower.

  4. Great thanks, both options sound a good shout.

  5. Do you use the bar risers with the Evotech levers?

  6. Yes. My hands are in a bit of a state. Right hand 4 breaks and right wrist twice. 2 ops plated.
    Left 11 breaks 3 plates, 4 ops.
I can’t take any weight other than when braking. Risers lift you up and allow the levers to be tilted down.

  7. I feel your pain... though not quite that bad by the sound of it. Oh to be young and healthy again eh! I'll invest in the risers (looks like my local shop has some in stock) and then maybe the levers if i still struggle. Thanks for the info :)
