How the hell do these spark plug caps come off? Not had the bike long and giving it the once over. The two spark plug caps at the top of the cylinder will not budge, I nearly pulled the bike of the stand trying to get them off. Any advice?
Yup. They don't wanna come off. I was so worried I'd overstressed the vertical one that I bought a new one. I neednt have. Pull harder.
For fitting of spark plug cables and better remove, apply, for example, Fluorocarbon Gel 880 high viscosity silicone grease
My spark plug leads went faulty and cant help thinking the tight fit may have been a factor...see if you can inject some dishwash in there to help you remove?
Spray some WD40, or similar, using the long red spray tube down the side of the plug cap where it goes into the head. Use and open ended spanner which is a snug fit around the cap with one side of the spanner under the plug lead, use something soft like a piece of wood to lever the spanner on the rocker cover, the cap will pop of fine with no damage. If you pull the cap too hard using your hands you will damage the inner core of the lead.
