No, I don't see that. I've bought two new Ducatis in the past (and may buy one more in the future) and if I decide that the price is ok, then I buy it to use and enjoy. I certainly do not worry about miles and weather and will use it whenever I want to. I will look after it but never ever view it as an investment. I wanna ride, tour, and enjoy the bike. Once I have it then I never ever think about the price I paid for it and if I come to sell, hen I will just expect fair market prices.
100% with you on that statement, but when your in a minefield just don't step on one and you'll be fine.
Fantastic as the cam belts have been carried out for you already so no extra expense for your wallet, but just try and get it for less than the asking price.
Thanks XH558, yes the cam belt has been changed and the vehicle will be serviced and MOT'd prior to me buying, hopefully we can haggle them down, I will need to check the front light ( Italian import ) and also look at the speedo and temp gauge, hopefully this will assist in the price, thanks all
Being referred to as a 916 "Varese" . Anyone else noted how an interesting back story has turned into a mythical status.
Profiteering chancer and the bike has more than a red chain and carbon hugger that’s not original. Andy
Also i can't see the early fairing and windscreen rivets as opposed to the allen key later ones that we know about.
Forget about the mileage on this 916sps / 98 model, it's a bargain be quick. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-d...option=on&price-from=500&page=1#modal-content
I am going to shut up now. I having a growing interest in a local railway soc that aims to rebuild some old locos and stations. We all can get ill..........
Considering what 1098r are going 4 these days perhaps an S version might be the right pocket choice. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1336695
I mis-read the price and was about to launch into my normal tirade against "classic" bikes and stupid prices! But that's all right. I'd have it!!!
OK. I have succumbed! I started looking at Fantics on that web site above. I think that I been worn down and now not so sure that the Supersport S will be my "fun bike". I remember these from my "moped days". A mate had one and we all took the p1ss! Wrongly!
Yes prices have gone stupid in recent times for most things and i'm getting concerned when it's my turn for moving them on, i.e will there be anybody out there in the marketplace with large wallets.
Have you ridden one yet Chris? They seem to hold their price amazingly well, I've yet to see a "good priced" used one (thankfully otherwise I would be poorer).
I’ve still yet to ride one Jez, I think I would be buying on looks more than performance after reading lots of reviews. As you say, price is a factor and if I’d seen one at “a steal “would probably have bought by now.
So whats your conclusions from reading all these reviews? I've read some, but nothing of any great import was written.
