Wondering if the numerous Decat pipes available for the 1200 will work with the (pikes peak termi stubby can) without modification? Im guessing it would be fairly loud without the noise suppression from the Cat. Maybe someone supplies a DB Killer for that OEM Can? Would things need a remap after? (Wanting to lose that big ol ugly Cat - and think the look of the Pikes Peak Termi Stubby is better than most aftermarket cans).
OK, found this which is helpful. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threa...-system-termi-decat-stock-termi-stubby.50710/
Did it on my old 1200s , it was so loud it sounded shite. And I like noise . Really did my head in after a while
Any end can that is available to fit the stock CAT will provide very little, if any, attenuation to the exhaust noise. Most people on this forum who have gone decat and OE end can have eventually found an end can that comes with a db killer because they couldn't live with noise, me included. There are companies out there who do bespoke db killers although I'm not sure if anyone has done one for the stock PP Termignoni stubby. I initially went Leo Vince and the O2 sensors seemed to cope well without a re map. I eventually gave in and got a remap and haven't regretted it. I now have an Arrow system and am very happy with it. Andy
As Andy indirectly alluded to, there are a few Full Termi alternatives out there that are worth looking at. If I was in the market, Leo Vince, Akra and QD would top my list. A RapidbIke or a re-flash would be required for optimal performance.
Cool - good to know thanks. Actually thought the LeoV pipe would be less loud than some others with the baffles half way along. I’ve that one here, but not fitted as yet. Love the look of the stock termi (and I’ve it already). The Akro can looks ace but a big cost...... finding some dB killer for the stock termi can might be the way forward if I can find or make something. Then spend some of the cost of an end can on a remap.
