In beautiful condition, i'm just not sure about that engine oil leak, but very fair money for what i can see above.
I'm amazed at the state of the fasteners if they bear the original plating. If not (and after 20 years that would not surprise me, neither would 12 months to be fair as they were always shockingly bad), then nice work anyway. Lovely looking bike and nice to see one that hasn't been messed with. I am guessing from the subframe lug, this one started off life as a Biposto.
sorry but for me it is worth much more: sps engine, last 916/996/998 "tamburini" with desmoquattro engine, few km, very well maintained, many carbon and termignoni... I wouldn't sell it for less 10,000!
The 996s came with both mono and biposto seats with biposto sub frame . Cracking engine too, not quite sps spec but has ti rods ect. Lovely bike.
Yep. I had one of these and you’re right - the engine is a peach. It has a sort of “urgent” mechanical noise that the base 996 didn’t have. Unfortunately, mine got stolen after only 2 months and stupidly I replaced it with a 2006 R6. I always think of my 996s as “the one that got away”. It’s funny to see what they’re selling for now as I paid £4K in or around 2008.
