Played the 18hole par 57 at Clevedon golf centre , excellent value at £10 , sunny but blowing a Gale , struggled to stay on my feet , it was certainly a test of golf , stunning views across the Bristol channel .
you can lots more people post like this please^^ ? - I need to justify a purchase that's teetering 45/55 not in favour.
Stayed up to watch the space station overhead last night and got a view of the Starlink satellite chain which I’d never seen before and was pretty amazing.
Just checked my van can enter the Birmingham clean air zone without a charge, starts June 1st. Looks like £8 per day for van or taxi, it seems to cover a larger area than I expected.
Digging eight round holes by hand for a concrete oversite, also a huge disappointment as an ebayer has removed his motorbike listing for the secondtimearound.
I agree, played there a few times- have you played dewstow, across the water? And if you like views trip Mendip - can see seven counties on a good day.
Weather has been very changeable all week, beautiful yesterday but I had promised the Ayatollah ( Wife ) to paint the garden seat ... Feck it, that’ll have to do... So today I thought I’d nip out early and beat the forecasted showers this afternoon.... Down to Teessdale motorcycles at Thirsk to peruse the new Aprilia’s I can see one of these in my future sometime RSV4 what a bomb this thing will be, just feed your driving license through the shredder on the way out... Great Loris Reggiani paint job, though I would have preferred it to be gloss Now what’s not to like about this bike eh?....apart from the £23 grand price tag ! Also quite like the Tuono, Factory with the leccy Ohlins, just over £18 grand and the RR behind it is a very reasonable £15,500 more geared up for touring, high bars and screen, pillion seat and grab rail to bungee your luggage on,...just not quite as good looking as the Factory though? No free Akrapovic can this time, ..you get a free dog instead ! Came out of Thirsk and headed towards Helmsley, it was still a bit cool and I felt like I needed something hot inside me to warm me up and I started hallucinating about.......a bacon sarnie, mmm nom-nom ! So I knew just the place to head for , Beadlam Grange farm shop, it’s about 3 miles out of Helmsley heading towards Pickering , great food, you can sit inside, just the job. Got there and looking at the menu you could get a small breakfast, one homemade sausage, one slice of bacon, one egg, etc,...that’ll do me great I thought, get it ordered job sorted About 5 minutes later this arrived at my table... I’d got stuck into it before I thought of taking the pic.....2 sausages, 2 eggs, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 slices of black pudding, beans, mushrooms, fried tomato, potato cake. Doorstop slice of homemade bread and about half a pound of butter and a glass of fresh Orange juice.........£5.95 !! I even checked with the young girl that they’d given me the right breakfast, “ oh yeah” she says, “ the breakfasts finish at 12:00 so they’ve probably given you everything that was left “ ...you’ll do for me I had to take my jacket off to do it justice, but pleased to report that it didn’t beat me Great setup in here, all homemade produce. / butchers shop etc Converted barn so there’s loads of space Fab selection of cakes for a fat lad like me .. Loads of seating, toilets and even a kiddies play area around the corner. Also bought a peace offering for the Ayatollah to keep my brownie points topped up Even has a hairdresser ( lhs ) attached if your perm / blue rinse needs attention Specific details of address,..the morning was panning out great so far and I still had the Helmsley TT to attack on the way home Unfortunately this is where the plan came off the rails a bit, by the time I was heading out of Helmsley towards Stokesley it started lashing down bugger! More bike washing to do! Then just on the way down from Chop Gate I had two massive slides on lh bends just before Great Ayton, the first one was so violent it nearly snatched the bars out of my hands ! then just after that I had another lh slip straight away, it made me stop and check the back tyre cos I thought it had punctured in the wet but the tyre was okay , so there must have been some diesel spill on the road in that area. Home a bit soggy and with more bike washing to do, no worries, it could have been worse, at least I don’t have to go to work, or “day prison “ as my mate calls it any more ! Roll on some nice dry decent weather,...Poucher
Hey I’m still full as a gun after that lot ... Will probably skip tea,....no, that last bits a lie !!
This afternoon I’ve been to look at a first house with my youngest daughter and partner. Bit of a doer upper, but they’re not phased by it.
