i went to on ya bike today, meet @Expat Jack , thanks for the burger and coffee mate looked at some nice bikes
Welcome mate. At least we both managed to resist buying anything (makes a change). I met Chris from 44 Teeth there with his blond girlfriend. Seems a pretty decent bloke.
Investigated an electrical fault with the left indicators on the Tiger , wasn't the bulb , might have been dirty contacts , all working now .
Went to Newby Hall nr Ripon, Italian car and bike show, weather was stunning for a change!! As well as the usual new stuff, these two oldies caught my eye.. 350 Aermacchi ? Harley ..37 bhp at 10,500 rpm ..get in !! 150 I think it was ? Moto Morini,. Just an engine frame and wheels, must weigh about 100 kgs, bikes were so much simpler those days? My old girl parked up Some of the Ferrari’s were just awesome, no idea what models they were but these two looked tremendous this black one... The pics don’t do it justice, fantastic curvy shape, could have been “ the Batmobile” looked lush! If you’ve got a nice engine, might as well show it off !! I wasn’t there too long, A couple of hours, ..I’ve got the attention span of a goldfish, I had an ice cream while I was there, didn’t want one, I really wanted a coffee but the queue was shorter at the icy van , that’s how bloody impatient I get ! Was planning to head back home up through Masham and Leyburn, but I got just past Masham and the road was closed because of an accident, hope it wasn’t any bikers and hope no one was hurt Nice to have a day out and get back without the bike and myself being filthy wet !
Target fixation? Missed a gear? The swearing suggests that at least you didn’t hurt yourself too badly.
I spotted the camera guy and thought "oh look, it's the camera guy", completely missed my breaking point then target fixated. I'm fine and I know why it happened so I'll learn.
Spend the afternoon stripping and servicing both front calipers, and managed to get the nose cone fitted and polished up nicely! Almost ready to get back on the road.
Found out my Abba stand basic adaptor kit is sooo old, it pre dates the current crop of bike specific adaptors so my newly purchased Scrambler 800 adaptors don’t fit. I’ve had to find another £25 and now have to wait for a delivery before I can change the rear shock absorber over Andy
Harley bought a 50% share in Aermacchi in 1960 with a view to rebranding small capacity 2-strokes for sale in the US. Bought them out in 1974 and re sold to Cagiva in 1978. Andy
