Dainese 1 Piece Sizing

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by bigjimmyb, Jun 3, 2021.

  1. Hi folks.

I am looking to get a 1 piece at some point and wonder if anyone can help with sizing.

    I’m 5’11”, 14 stone. 42-44” chest and 34-36” waist. 32” inside leg.

My RST 2 piece has a 56 jacket but I bought an (unused) Astars suit off eBay in a 56 and it was too big. So I was thinking a 54 but usually second hand means no returns.

Any similar sized riders out there who can offer some advice?

    Thank you.

Sizing chart which seems accurate enough.

  3. I found that the Dianese 1 piece comes up short in the body length, shoulder to crotch. I’m 6’4”, 33” inside leg and the EU58 (UK 48) was very uncomfortable in the dangly bits area. Andy

  4. Dainese is pretty good normally, I'm a really similar size, I'd say a 54 should be good as long as you don't have a weird body composition like bigger stomach, and super skinny legs or 'heavy' top end.

1pc will always get criticized for being 'short' up the front of the body, they are generally designed like that, they are designed to be in a crouch and to not bunch when you are. I always found italian brand suits suited skinner legged people when I worked in the bike shop, but it was a long time ago and things have improved a lot since then.

  5. Im a 31" waist (5'8") and I find their trousers come up short on leg lenth. I tend to get mine adjusted by Chris at 9lives. I also thing their chest doesnt account for those of us who have shoulders. I should be a 46, but I buy a 48.

I dont like Dainese zips. The ones in my trouser leg have now gone...

(my next leathers will be bks)

  6. Thanks all.

I’ve had a look at the sizing chart before but wanted some real world examples to work from.

I’m a pretty standard build ( the one where there’s never any stock left for the sales grrr)

I do have a local shop but am loathe to try stuff there then look for 2nd hand elsewhere. I’ve know business go from high streets for that reason. Maybe I’ll just buy new when I have the dough.

  7. Also different models of one piece can be a different fit . I tried on a eu50 alpinestars chaser ? suit and it fitted like a glove where as the motegi in the same size was very tight on the legs and hips due to extra padding . Then a 52 was to long in the arms and legs .

  8. 5'10 and a half, just under 11 stone, both my 52 Dainese 1pc have the right length arms and legs.
If you are over 34 waist or, as said above, have shoulders, probably better with a 54.

  9. Thanks again chaps. I think trying on first is the only way to know for sure.
