...and this is my bike (and one of my dogs). It's the v4s full package plus tire sensors, radiator guard, sump guard, hand guards, footlights and tank bag. the oil plug is off my old 2010 multi and the luggage rack is off my 2016 Multi Enduro as a homage to those bikes.
Wow, quite a story and glad you have both come out the other end of it OK, albeit sporting a few lasting physical reminders. I very much admire your wife's attitude as well. My wife had her left ankle badly smashed whilst on her monster by some muppet in a scaffolding lorry who drove into her a couple of years back and yet she was as keen as ever to get back on two wheels once the bike and her injuries were sorted. She still has some lasting damage to her shoulder but it's not deterred her, just dented her confidence a little. I hope you both have many more years enjoying your two wheeled adventures.
Very sorry to hear about your accident and what happened to your wife. It is always worse when something happens to your pillion rather than you I feel. Hope she recovers well in all aspects. See you out there.
Good to have you back in the fold It’s been a journey for you both. A near death experience is enough to give you a form of PTSD I hope you inspire those in the forum who maybe struggling Keep safe and look forward to your new stories
Agreed I was a pillion and we came off I damaged my knee ligaments where the bikr landed on it. We did get back on at the time but ended up in A &E He had a broken rib I was laid up with a poorly knee He felt bad about the accident I felt bad for tapping him to turn left a big open tutning we ended up on the wrong side of it.
Did the dog eat the squirrel, just asking for a concerned animal friend. Welcome back into the groove.
Thanks, I will pass it on. She was riding solo at the time on her way back from work. I got a call from her moments later, whilst she was lying in the road. Have to say for a moment my heart sank before I was fully aware of her injuries as you always tend to fear the worst, when you receive such a call. As has been said many a time, as long as you can come way from it and heal as best as biology allows you to, then you can consider yourself lucky. Bikes are always replaceable.
Welcome back !! I was the chap that engaged you in conversation at Newlands corner that day... I was on my triple black GS. I so remember reading your story at the time and thinking, bloody hell, there for the grace of god that could be me... So glad to hear that you and your wife are managing to pick up your lives again, with such a positive attitude. Big Respect. Was great to meet you, and will look out for you when at the ‘regular stop points’ in Surrey / Sussex !!
I have not read all the thread but get the gist. Congratulations on the new bike and on you & your missus' strength. Enjoy.
Great that you appear to have approached your setback(s) so positively and got a grip on your associated incident demons. Brilliant that you have now reset and got back onto two wheels. Take care out there when riding and the best of luck with settlement of your ongoing case, which with luck, will at least rectify to some extent, the issues you now both remain with and will undoubtedly have to manage going forward in your lives.
Oh no! I didn't know that! Glad Nonnie has stayed positive, and hope her long term consequences aren't too bad. Please send my very belated best wishes. I also hope King Don Juan Sparkles Español (or whatever he's called ) and his fish tank, are still on the road!
