Lads, I'm getting a bit of thing for a Diavel. But, the footrest positions confuse me on the different bikes. What's the crack, some forward control, some pretty standard? Tia.
And just to confuse the issue, there is a foot rest kit for the X Diavel that brings them back to the same position as the Diavel. Andy
How would the 1260 ones compare to say a Multi? I’ve only sat on a couple in dealers, but I’ve got to get the Dvt serviced in a couple of weeks and I’m asking for a go on Diavel? They’ve been pecking away at me for a good while now. The Dvt is the only bike in 10+ years I’ve not had to drop the pegs a bit.
Not 100% sure - but would say the multi riding position is similar to the 1260 Diavel (middle picture)... there is a website that has all the ergonomic positions built in with footpeg, handlebar and seat positions for comparison on riding triangle.. but can not find it at present.
Did not have latest Diavel - but these give you an idea - you can also change your height and leg length
I’m 6’4” and find the Diavel foot peg position uncomfortable, my knee position puts way too much stress on my hips. Carole is 5’5” and it is mile munching comfortable for her. Andy
Had a couple of hours on a 1260s today. Stonking motor, but the whole bike was too cramped for me. The foot pegs are pretty high, almost like a Monster to me. And soooo wide. I kept catching me keks on them anorl. It’s not for me and re-emphasises just how brilliant the Multistrada is. I’ve never ridden a bike that got so much attention though. On the other had I am smitten with the 800 Scrambler Icon. Got a test ride next week when the Mutleys in for a service.
Forgot to mention how good I thought the wind protection was. Very impressive considering no screen etc.
Hi, Ive just traded my XDiavel S in for the 1260S and find the footpegs perfect. I'm 5'6" and a bit on the tubby side (ahem) but the ergonomics are fine. I recently did the Assen MotoGP on it and the bike ate up motorways and A-roads with consumate ease & very few aches. Trickling through traffic was also good. The X Diavel S forward peg position are also great for motorways and no issue on fast, sweeping bends but unbalanced in traffic. Your arms get stretched and feet tend to get blown off the pegs at autobahn speeds though!
I've got a 1260s and couldn't get on with the riding position and lack of ground clearance, so fitted rearsets, slightly flatter and straighter bars and the touring seat (which raises the seat by around 40mm). This has made the bike much more pleasing to ride and I would say the riding position is now close to the Monster 1200 shown above
I can't remember the make, but they are straighter and lower than the orginals, it was a pain to source as the original diameter is not a standard size so I have to make up some wrap around spacers as these new ones were a smaller diameter. The rear sets are a good idea, not a drastic change in position but improves the ground clearance and is better quality mechanicals so the gear change and brake operation feel nicer
