Hi can someone clear up for me if my bike is an official mono or just conversion? The V5 say bip but the little card has the letters MON ♂️
I did this. Contacted Ducati Leeds, gave them frame and engine number. They put them into their DCS system and confirmed model, build date, warranty start date etc. They were kind enough to send me a screenshot which I have printed out to keep with my documents.
It has Showa suspension and it’s not an “s” I will send an email to Ducati see if they can clarify, it’s just the fact the card has MON on it has me wondering if it is an official monoposta or has the pre ious owner converted it. Anyone have an email address handy for clarification?
Well what does the bike look like? Show us some pics. A small detail differentiating the biposto and monoposto are the Dzus fasteners on the side fairings. Originally a monoposto has D ring ones and biposto has Allen head ones. The rear spring rates are different as well but I don't know what they are exactly.
Thanks for all the info but still none the wiser have emailed Ducati for confirmation either way so will wait and see
Hi folks if anyone interested got an email back from Ducati confirming it’s a Mono thanks again for the help.
The biposto did not have the three position adjuster. The rear catch is in a fixed position. If you slid the whole tank/seat unit back the rear catch would not latch to the seat.
I think what has happened is that the dealer has been lazy and not checked to make sure the base model you have was a bip or a mono. Base models where mostly BIP, and so the mono base models were rare. I had a base model 749 mono
