Hi All. My pillion is finding it very difficult to get on and off the bike. The problem is mainly the lack of room in front of the standard pannier to allow her to turn her leg as she sits down/getting off. We have just tried Hepco & Becker C bow panniers and they are no improvement. Love the bike but its pointless having it if I cant use it as intended.Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? Don't really want to change pillions if possible............. Thanks.
Try using the front footrest and then slide back up the riders seat onto the pillion seat. Worked for my daughter.
Thanks bud.Just tried it. Unfortunately Lisa's only 5ft 2 and the riders peg isn't high enough for her to sling her leg over.......
My wife struggled too so bought these cheapies from tinternet. They have no detent springs etc so flap about sans wife. I dont care, but it could be sorted...
I can’t quite understand this as my daughter is shorter, 5ft. She’s fully grown too so no likelihood of her getting taller. Maybe it’s a technique thing. I’m sure there are forum members who have partners, children etc, of a similar height that somehow manage. Perhaps they could shed some light.
A couple of friends have adjustable foorpeg lowering brackets. These can be rotated to bring thre pegs forward too. Maybe try searching for some of them. for example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-CNC-A...MI2p_szv6R8QIVQdPtCh3HGwRuEAQYCCABEgJGbPD_BwE
Taskmule that is a valid point. The ones my mate have arent cheapo ebay specials, my link was just the first example I found.
I have a set of Gilles adjustable pillion pegs which I no longer require, can be adjusted fore / aft and up / down, suitable for DVT and 1260, in as new condition. Pm me if they may be of use to you.
